1/1/21 #Tremblant Conditions

56(*) Open Trails on all 4 Sectors at #Tremblant .
Naturally Beautiful.
Recent heavy snowfall always makes the inside spaces at
Tremblant naturally beautiful. As we look forward to
all the optimistic hopes of a new year, the privilege of
being able to contemplate those sentiments while Skiing
is especially poignant within the current Global context
of complex health, political and economic circumstances.
We are so very, very lucky to be here, and the significance
of that is both understood and keenly appreciated.

Weather Notes:
It would be difficult to imagine an easier sub-zero C temperature
range than the one currently forecasted in terms of keeping the
“winter" in winter, without any apparent thermal spikes in the
near-term outlook. The overnight lows still offer good opportunities
for snowmaking as well, so there’s good reason to support steady
terrain development as Mountain Crews expand their efforts.
Conditions Notes:
In the Groomed category, the story today is refinement.
For Beginners and Intermediates, there will be an increasing
scope of smooth, mogul free, all day durability as last nights
grooming cycle generates higher degrees of compaction over
the newly fallen snow. Soft surface tendencies that may have
been prone to either irregular tracked or bumpy conditions
should be noticeably less, and forgiveness over the length
and breadth of groomed trails should be noticeably greater.
In the Un-Groomed, Hors Piste, Sous Bois categories, the
story is evolving on both ends of the relative scale of quality
due to traffic shaped wear patterns over base and new snowfall
reserves. We are not yet at mid-season accumulation depths,
so caution in explorations is required in order to minimize
natural hazards that may be encountered.

Please Note:
A scan of these Forums for similar dates in the archived history record
will show that we have frequently included random Web Cam observations
for Holiday periods to give future readers insights into weather and
traffic conditions. Do not assume that it will always be busy because that
is not always true. There are many examples, like this one today, that show
relatively light traffic.

Please Note(B):
There has been an upgrade to the Covid-19 Level
in this area to “RED ZONE” status effective 12.14.20.
We do not know exactly how this will impact any future
Mountain utility beyond the provisions of the currently
available Red Zone behavioural protocols. The status
of active or available participation may possibly change
without notice for public health and safety.
