102/102 Open Trails.
Here is about 98.276% of what you need to know about Tremblant Today...
Easy.

Of Course...
That does not mean everything is easy if say for example, you are a Beginner
and you find yourself at the peak crest of Trail # 23, Taschereau, which is an
Expert rated Black Diamond, however, if you are on terrain that is appropriate
for your actual Skill Level, then we have 99.438% confidence in saying that
you will indeed find everything within your Skill Level... easy.

Above: This is the “After” groomed shot that we wanted to match with
yesterdays “Before” un-groomed shot, so you can go back a day to
compare them. Obviously though, a huge difference in the range of
skill level utility with the evident smoothness over expanded width.
Below: Here’s another classic example of a locals favourite that really
comes alive for a wider group of participants when it’s in this wonderfully
smooth groomed condition. Trail # 94, Versant Nord/North, Side La Griffe.

---------------------------------------------------------------------
Weather Notes:
Within the temp range shown for today, very close to 20 C rise
by mid-afternoon, so obviously moving from cold to warm presents
a bit of challenge on the comfort scale because what you need at
“First Tracks” will be way too much by mid-day. The answer: Vents
and packable layers, where “Packable Layers” refers to Shell layers
that can fold into themselves and be readily carried in a cargo pocket.
We have found that if you make your base layers appropriate for the
temps during the main part of the day, then an outer Shell layer that
you can take off when the heat finally begins to happen, is one of the
best ways to cope with such a wide temp range. Its amazing how
a very thin wind-blocking outer shell layer can be more than enough
for the first cool hour to keep a lot of heat inside of a lighter vented
jacket that you can open up later on.
Another fortunate aspect of the hourly forecast is that the wind-speed
is lowest in the early hours, so that will be a big help too. “Cold” is always
easier to take when the winds are low.
Conditions Notes:
From Beginner To Expert Within The Groomed Array:
What Makes It Easy...
It’s the combination of low friction and excellent mechanical grip that
comes with super-cool, Cryogenic, “Squeaky” very low internal humidity
snow that makes it simultaneously easy to execute control moves with
100% confidence, yet it is forgiving to the point that little errors can
be absorbed without tripping you up.
No one is perfect, so that’s a great combination for all Skill Levels
on the Groomed terrain shown below in the Official PDF.
With such a large rise in temps, there will be some differences in
surface characteristics by the time afternoon rolls around, especially
on the sunny facing Versant Sud/South and Soleil Sectors. If you really
like what you find this morning, staying on the shaded Nord/North sectors
this afternoon will carry forward with a high degree of continuity for all
the groomed.
Sous Bois/Glade/Hors Piste:
In the Sous Bois, Glades, Hors Piste, and Un-Groomed categories, the fact
that Trails # 64/65, MCA/Banzai were groomed 2 days ago, tells you most
of what you need to know. Building snowpack accumulations that can
permit grooming on trails with no snowmaking support are the strongest
indicator of improving conditions in the surrounding bush. With lighter than
normal traffic due to Covid-19 Pandemic attendance restrictions, we expect
the Sous Bois quality to stay at high levels for the foreseeable future.
