Winter To The Rescue!

After a brief, but intense warm spell,
the quick return of “Cool” and “Snow”!

The snowfall came in squalls. The intensity was “White-out” from time-to-time,
and the dynamics of surface performance were changing by the run.

Generally, it was a big relief to have about 80% of the speed back after the previous
two days of “sticky” warm spring snow. Of course it was the drop in the temps.
to below zero C that was largely responsible for that, however the new snow falling
was not always “Fast” snow, there were some sectors where you could feel some
drag over it, and some sectors where it was really quick.

Todays Setup Is Yesterdays Weather Drama...

It was mostly a clear day, however if you looked closely, you could see
there were signs of active weather nearby...

Of course, that’s an attempt at humour because you did not need to look closely
at all, it was truly a Mother Nature "In Your Face” day and she was delivering the
goods like a freight train coming into the station at full speed. One look at the
literally “Black” sky was enough to imagine some sort of apocalyptic event was
imminent.

“Hey, What Are You Looking At?”

What happened with this one above was that we were trying to capture
the temp. readout on the Summit Info. Board in a wide-angle panoramic
but did not see through the cameras diopter that the lights were out.
This is a crop from the original that we thought was neat because we
unintentionally caught this cool look from an unknown person who seems
to be maybe wondering... “Hey, what are you looking at?” What we really
like though is the “Style” of current Skiwear fashion that always seems to
be evident at Tremblant. Since 1939, when Lowell Thomas came to Tremblant
and brought all the “Old Money” from the New England States up for the new
and exciting sport of recreational Alpine Skiing, Tremblant has been a centre
of current Ski Fashion. Right down to the co-ordinated colours of the pink-tint
goggle lens and the pink-tinged faux-fur of the jacket collar, this is a great
example of 2021.

Conditions Notes:

In the Groomed categories:

Another day of very complex scenarios that are bound to be
changing to variable degrees, in our opinion, mostly due to
traffic volume. The new snow is going to be a very functional
cushion over the re-solidified base, however it is not a thick
layer, so it will be sensitive to wear factors.

In the Un-Groomed Mogul Zones:

Some of these areas are the one’s on “Progressive”
gradual openings, pending Ski Patrol Safety clearances.
If/when they do open there may be some firmer degrees of this:

On Any Day Like These “Dynamic” Weather Conditions Generate...

You really want to spend time consulting with the unique Tremblant
Info.Ski Crews that are all fully bilingual and collectively have more
Skiing experience at Tremblant than any other group we can think of.
On top of that, they are “Radio Controlled”, so Mountain Intel Updates
are immediately dispatched for the benefit of all Tremblant Guests
to take advantage of. Things can sometimes be changing by the run
when there is this kind of weather volatility, so there is no more effective
way to get that info.for your own use.

They are always light-hearted, positive, welcoming and eager to assist.
This is one from “Last Run” yesterday, about 4:15 P.M., as another
snow squall moment is just getting under way.

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)
