What you see are very common day-one mixed surface
particle size that is an integrated combination of both
snowmaking and recent natural snow, all blended together
for just great starting performance. As day-two, tomorrow
will see even more refinement and todays joyful fun will
be tomorrows serious fun with even higher levels of lateral grip.

Get ready for a great Nansen season whenever you can make it!

Absolutely fabulous Nansen Bas/Lower, day-one. Just think...

YOU can do this from now until April, if you’re lucky enough
to get here.

You know what to do...

More technical detail in the morning on Nansen...

Topic # 2 for this evening...

Above:
This is an interesting story with a historical twist. The Collingwood
Ontario based Craigleith Ski Club Race Team visits every year for
dependable early season training, that’s no surprise. The Coach’s
story is the surprise though, because his family has a 3 generation
connection with Tremblant. You see, his Mum and Dad met here
in the 1950’s. His Father saw his Mum on a chair lift for the first time,
ever, and pursued her from that very moment until he married her.
Now that’s a great starting point for a Tremblant connection. Think
about it... your very life was only possible in a fleeting moment of
critical life-changing experience by your parents, who never knew
each other, ever, until the magical moment when they met here at
Tremblant. A wonderful story!

The three generations are the Parents, the Coach, and his Daughter,
also in this picture too. Three generations, from the 1950’s to now,
with a great Tremblant outlook for more in the future.

The trail descent/course sequence is La Crete, to Beauvallon Haut/Upper,
to Beauvallon Bas/Lower, to Johannsen Base. This track may be restricted
from public use tomorrow. The course is usually prepared well in advance
then held to settle without traffic stress in anticipation of the durable quality
necessary to hold 24 hours worth of lapping without deterioration.

Compensating new terrain for public benefit are for examples, Nansen Bas/Lower
and Duncan Haut/Upper and Bas/Lower, as well as Taschereau. We think there may
be some undetermined possibility of additional new terrain in the Expo Peak sector,
as evidenced by snowmaking, however that is not confirmed by any official sources.

Oh Joy!!!

All 6 Kilometres Of Nansen Haut/Upper, and Nansen Bas/Lower
Scheduled For “Open” Today!!!

We stopped to get this pic yesterday afternoon because
we thought Nansen Bas/Lower might be close to opening
with the apparent level of finish. Evidently we got that right...

Nansen Bas/Lower is arguably one of the most critical trail openings
at Tremblant each season because it is the only legitimate “Green”,
easy Beginner descent path to the Versant Sud/South Side Resort Base.
As such, it immediately alleviates both the complex and difficult terrain
for Beginners at the challenging intersection around and below the TGV Quad
Base, as well as the absolute reduction in traffic volume around the TGV
Base, thereby immediately enhancing the all-day durability of groomed
conditions everywhere. This is literally one of the largest logistical
enhancements all guests benefit from at the beginning of any season. Period.

But Wait, There’s More...

The typical Nansen Bas/Lower opening quality is suggested in the above
photograph specifically as groomed to perfection, and when combined
with Nansen Haut/Upper gives everyone at Tremblant a single descent of
6 Kilometres that is circa 1939, brilliantly simple and magnificently laid
out with stepped and gentle pitch angles that regardless of Skill Level,
make you a better skier.

We can’t wait to get onto it today and it will certainly be a primary focus
review topic for Apres Ski.

The Grass Might Still Be Green At “Yourville”,
But At Tremblant...

One of the very best indicators of the early
health and development of any new season
is the ambient snowpack in the bush. With
that in mind...

Tremblant360, Season 2021/22, #1 “Proof Of Snow"

The accumulations of natural snow have been a serious
benefit to the early season. Together with the snowmaking
and the work of Mountain Crews, there has been a synergistic
and rapid establishment of a primary trail base that is very
stable and resilient to any weather anomalies that could
be expected to pop up.

Additionally, we love taking these “Proof Of Snow” pic’s
because no matter what age you are, it just makes you
feel like a kid again when you have the fun of getting to
play in so much deep, fresh snow!

Where Are You?

Above:
We set this pic. up and took the initial shot without
people, and that’s the version we ran in last night’s
Apres Ski. Then, we thought we really should have
people in the picture to add a sense of human scale,
so we waited, and waited, and then we waited some
more. Finally, after about 5.5 minutes(which seems
like an eternity when you could be skiing), these two
folks showed up. The point is, there is almost no
crowd here during the week and it is absolutely
prime time for early season fitness conditioning.
For all those with discretionary planning ability,
Where Are You?

Weather Notes:

Today and tomorrow, fabulous, after that, things could change...

For today though, a much more normal relationship
between ambient wind speed and peak gusts, so we
think that when you combine that with the relatively
low wind speeds, plus some sunshine, it could actually
morph into a reasonably warm feeling, easy early winter day.

Conditions Notes:

Fantastic Early Season Excellence.

More natural snowfall over a steady 3 day Sub-Zero C daily
cycle of incremental grooming refinements make for todays
potential to be theoretically “Best Of” conditions for this very
early development stage of the new season.

Applicable to all Skill Levels, but especially for Beginners
and Intermediates who should be able to find some of the
most forgiving and easy learning surfaces they will ever
experience in their learning lives.

These are conditions that make you look good.
These are conditions that allow you to be good.

If you are reading this at some future point, if you
only have this time of year to focus on a learning week,
we call Mid-December at Tremblant “Value Weeks”
because of days like today.

Your learning curve can be exponentially greater now
with this trail array, and your rapid progress in personal
skill advancement is virtually guaranteed.

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)
