Get Out The Sunscreen And Get Ready For
A Super-Spring Day In Fall.

Sunny And +10 C ????

---------------- 9:37 A.M. Insert Update: ----------------------

Evidently it is not quite as sunny as the forecast might suggest,
so-far. We actually appreciate the cloudy though, as solar energy
is reduced on the trail surfaces, thereby minimizing the impact
of any “+C” thermal factors that are inherently incompatible with “Winter”.

In addition to the above captioned weather observation notes,
this update clearly shows the relatively light traffic volume and
we want to emphasize the advantages of very low trail traffic
for regional Tremblant fans who may have any form of seasons
pass and can use this uncrowded time for fitness lapping.
What we say... Better than any Gym on the Planet.

Environment Canada Freezing Rain Warning:

We do not regard this a s significant in any way
for the Alpine Snow Sports Trail Network.

Driving, to and from the Mountain could be a far
different thing though, so we would have to say... “Be Careful!!!”

Conditions Notes:

Many possible dimensions of “Spring” or “Spring-like” surface characteristics.

Same as before...

“At Least It’s Short!"

At the forecast values for ambient atmospheric and temperature
in this forecast, you may need a suitable ski/board base wax
or treatment for “Warm” range surfaces in order to offset drag
generated by thaw and/or surface level saturation.

Maybe.

The reason we say “Maybe”, is because the frost in the existing
trail base is very densely concentrated as the result of all previous
weather and grooming compaction cycles and that is a very resilient
lamination that would take more than one day for heat to work into
beyond a few Millimetres, fractions of an inch.

So, the possibility exists that the short few hours of heat today may
only generate a film of surface thaw that could stand chances of having
lubrication properties instead of drag properties. If lubrication was
the net outcome, it could actually end up being super-fast, all day.

Regardless, base treatments for this temp range of surfaces will
be an asset that can significantly benefit performance in any
eventuality. Bottom line on this point is that if you see a day
like this forecast, proactive ski/board base treatment can never
be a bad thing.

Please Note: The 2 trails off the list compared to yesterday
are Toufou and Tam Tam, which are Nansen Bas/Lower
links, adjacent to Trail #5, La Passe(Flying Mile Peak to Nansen).
They are relatively small and do not affect the overall
availability of skiable terrain.

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)
