T360 Late Evening(10:53 P.M.) Apres Ski Edit...

A Quick One Pic. Summary That Should Give
You Insight Into Both The Photo-Challenge Of
Today, And The Snowy Promise Of Tomorrow.

A completely different day from yesterday
in both temperature(warmer), and atmospherically
(Foggy, periodically pea-soup foggy), not to
mention some un-official snowfall that provided
an additional cushion over the groomed, but
still firm base.

We had thought that the skiing would have been
elevated from yesterday, and it was to a degree,
just not to the durable extent we anticipated.
What we did not figure on was the substantially
greater attendance that came out for today, so
there were some developing wear factors, as well
as a few slick and icy bits that became more noticeable
after about 2:15 P.M., or so. Totally understandable with
greater volumes of accumulated traffic passage.

This was a more typical Holiday time attendance
and after a few unusually quiet days, maybe it
was the milder weather that finally got folks
motivated? The larger numbers were largely
groups, so despite the longer lines, the singles
lines continued to be either short, or no line at
all and ski right on.

For Tomorrow: Currently forecast snowfall from
around 10:00 AM onward, temps rising to -2C,
moderate to strong gusting Southerly based winds.
It should be interesting.

Here’s What Your Friends Have Been Doing At Tremblant...

We do not think you could get any clearer idea of what
average conditions are at Tremblant right now, beyond
what these pic’s above and below show.

It is this quality of performance that we found virtually
everywhere, and believe it or not, for reasons we outline
in the Conditions Notes below, it should be even better
today.

Weather Notes:

The temps have warmed up quite nicely overnight and there
is a completely different feel to the day that is disproportional
to the numerics. It’s still cool, but there’s no bite, it feels
softer and way more hospitable, so we’re looking forward
to longer outdoor time cycles.

Conditions Notes:

Here’s more of what you need to know:

What you also need to know is that even though the
Official record has not registered any overnight snowfall,
there has been a snow cover deposited on everything that
while not deep, for example, has covered the colours of
vehicle roofs making them all look white. That might not
seem like much but it can make as big a difference as
4 tiny ball bearings between 2 huge plates of steel.

This combination of another grooming night-shift, rising
temp’s, and a dusting of fresh snow, has a high probability
of producing a synergistic elevation in overall groomed
conditions that is greater than the sum of the parts.

However... The high quality in the groomed trail network
is a separate and distinct assessment compared to the
Sous Bois/Hors Piste and Un-Groomed categories
because it’s been a while since a major snowfall.
For that reason the bush zones are far more
a la Carte, and caution with speed and navigation
are absolutely appropriate if you want to avoid hazard.

The hard freeze of the night before last has certainly
firmed everything up, but great care is required for
safety as we are not yet at mature seasonal snowpack
depths in the bush.

Moving on to another totally relevant aspect
of current conditions:

Great Training Days!!!

This below is a key reason for attending at Tremblant
anytime you can. Period.

If you want to get better, practice helps make perfect,
and as a training and practice environment, we would
make the case that there is no better place in Eastern
North America to grow your skills.

Tremblant360 is overjoyed to see Ski Enthusiasts actually practicing
training drills and we wholeheartedly recommend that you include
your own form of drill practice for the benefit of pure advancement
in your technique. We see so many “Survivor” and/or “Social” skiers
who seem content to slip-slide down the Mountain without a care
or a hope of ever getting better, when a bit of dedicated practice
each and every day on the slopes works wonders for anyones skills
development.

The Tremblant advantage is superb training trails of 4, 5, 6 Kilometres
of single runs where you can establish a training rhythm that is just
not possible on the Bunny Hill at Yourville. For that reason, we
estimate that your learning curve at Tremblant can be between 3 to
4 times quicker progression than where ever it is you are interrupted
by having to stop and get back on a lift every 2 minutes.

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)
