102/102(*) Open Trails
Wow... It’s A Miracle...
When you go from 47 open trails under a frozen mantle one night,
to 102 open trails of pure, total Mountain-wide winter magic in less
than 14 hours later, there are some very big, very positive, synergistic
weather forces at work that we do not think we have ever seen act in
this combination before, ever.

Winter Has Been Magically Reborn.
3.8.22.Summit.Sunny.Snowy.Views.To.Edge.Sector.Peak.c.jpg
In just around 4 hours on Monday evening, Mother Nature “Cooked”
the entire Mountain.
In a brief “Flurry” of intense, thick, warm/wet snowfall, plus the exact
temp necessary at almost Zero C, for all practical purposes, she
magically rendered out all the effects of the previous freezing rain,
completely, everywhere.
Adding in the literal “Around The Clock” efforts of Mountain Crews,
and the entire Mountain was transformed into a magnificent rebirth
of genuine, authentic, winter that many would never have guessed possible.
3.8.22.McCulloch.Summit.Pitch.Spectacular.Scenery.Superb.Performance.b.jpg
Over the years we have reported on many, many excellent restoration
and recovery efforts, but we do not think we have ever reported on one
that was so completely transformational in such a short period of time.
Repeat:
"When you go from 47 open trails under a frozen mantle one night,
to 102 open trails of pure, total Mountain-wide winter magic in less
than 14 hours later, there are some very big, very positive, synergistic
weather forces at work that we do not think we have ever seen act in
this combination before, ever."
If you wrote that as a script for a movie, they would laugh at you
for imagining something impossible, but the reality is that is exactly
what has happened.
3.8.22.McCulloch.Mid.POV.Up.To.Summit.Pitch.b.jpg
The very positive rendering effect has been equally
applied across all groomed skill levels, as well as all
un-groomed, sous bois, Hors Piste trail categories,
without exception.
Weather Notes:
Just about perfect when you take into account that
the Summit and elevations should remain a wee bit
below Zero C. This may be more evident on the shaded
Nord/North side, so the sunny Sud/South side may
see some “+”C influence in the afternoon hours.
The Official PDF Trail Status does not show Trail # 65, Banzai as
groomed, but we can tell you for a fact that it is, and not only that,
but is groomed at roughly 98.268% close to flawless.
Together with it’s zonal sector mates, # 64 Marie-Claude Asselin,
and # 66, Le Tunnel, they are in the peak condition of the ultimate
refinements in grooming at Tremblant for the entire season. Period.
3.8.22.Nord.North.Banzai.Bas.Lower.POV.Up.Excellent.Groomed.Conditions.Observations.c.jpg
Conditions Notes:
In The Groomed Array...
Exceptionally fine groomed conditions as the result of another
overnight grooming shift that should go a long way towards
an ideal level of compaction within the 16cm’s of snowfall
we woke up to yesterday.
The wonderful snowfall abundance was prone to some soft mogul
zones, so a second grooming round should be just right for producing
an even more refined version of yesterdays miraculous transformation.
3.8.22.Expo.Segregated.Training.Pitch.Above.Duncan.Quad.Base.d.jpg
We need you to review yesterdays posting as it does add
a framework/insight into what we are forecasting should
be wide-spread excellence today.
In the Sous Bois/Hors Piste And Un-Groomed, continued fantastic
conditions extended from yesterday.
T360 March 8, 2022 Proof Of Snow:
3.8.22.Nord.North.Lowell.Thomas.Sector.Open.Sous.Bois.Zone.Proof.Of.Snow.c.jpg
Please Note: In the above Proof Of Snow we have no idea what the
actual depth here is as we could not reach the ground with either
a ski or a pole in a vertical plunge. There are crusty substrates way
below the surface that jamb up in the ski bindings so we used one
ski pole, leaving the handle just in sight for a demo sampling of the
freely visible depths. We did a one foot drop on the far ski to illustrate
the fluffy looseness of the new snow which has a great deal of natural
loft. The far, horizontal ski pole was gently set on the snow and sank
into it as you see from nothing other than its own weight.
We can not effectively tell you how good it is because words fall short.
It is truly one of those “You Just Have To Be Here” scenario’s, to fully
comprehend the great good fortune of the current situation.
If you can go, just do it. Make all the excuses you need to, but leave
for Tremblant A.S.A.P.
(If you are reading this at some future point as part
of ski holiday vacation planning options, this week,
as well as all the preceding/following mid-winter weeks
of every Tremblant season, have similar patterns of excellence
within their unique annual profiles. We submit that confidence
in finding genuine, authentic, real “Winter”, is why you book
Tremblant, where Latitude North gets you the reliability you
can read about in this record for season after season.)

Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.
When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.
There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.
(
If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)
