12/3/22 #Tremblant Conditions

T360 Early Evening Apres Ski Edit, Very Quick Post At 7:55 P.M.
The wind has been nothing short of a shrieking howler,
not to mention the rainy part. It was however the shrieking
howler that took out the power to the entire Old Village Of
Mont Tremblant that went black at 5:13 P.M. It’s just now
come back on, so we’ll probably catch up with dinner and
chores. More on all in the morning, but we’d have to say
that most locals here are happy to have this day in the
rear-view mirror... at least it was brief.
... at least we have this to look forward to:
12.4.22.Daylight.Hourly.Forecast.Data.a.jpg
Considering that it ever-so-briefly got to +9 C today,
and it’s going down to -8 C overnight, it should
come as no surprise that well tuned edges could
be a very big asset in the ambient refroze situation.

22(*) Open Trails On Sud/South And Nord/North Sectors At #Tremblant .
Versant Nord/North Side Lowell Thomas Sector Openings!
We have been monitoring and documenting the constant
development work in this Sector since Opening Day and
after a little over a week, here we have it fully finished
and ready to go!
12.2.22.Lowell.T.Quad.Views.Lowell.Thomas.Trail.At.Rigodon.Peak.Grooming.Ski.Patrol.Sector.Finishing.Observations.f.jpg
Weather Notes:
Unfortunately it’s not as easy to be as enthusiastic about
the weather for today, as it is about all the newly opening
terrain. However... there is some chance that up over cooler
Mountain elevations, much of this particular late Fall precipitation
cycle could be snow.
That is what happened 3 days ago, a lot of what fell on the
Mountain was big, fat, snowflakes, while the surrounding
regional ground levels got rained on. So, we think that
because the ambient base level temps forecasted are going
to be virtually the same now, as they were over that last event,
we could see a similar outcome.
We could be wrong. Bring Descente Poncho...
Here’s What We’ve Been Working With, Regardless Of Temp’s, Every Single Day.
12.2.22.Nansen.Pitch.Racer.Training.Drills.b.jpg
The overcast weather shadow makes this long telephoto up
to the bottom of the pitch from the Nansen plateau(just
above Mi Chemin), look a bit blue, but the essence of the
performance we’ve had every single day shines brightly
through in the obvious capability of the trail surfaces to
respond to racer levels of energy.
If racers can train with this kind of reliable edge engagement,
we can tell you for a fact, that if you bring tuned gear to the
Mountain, if, if, if you have the skills and the muscle, you to
can ski at this level across the entire range of open groomed
terrain.
Racers Do That... You Can Do This....

New To Tremblant?
The unique Tremblant Info.Ski group are totally dedicated
to one single object... to make sure your day on the Mountain
is beneficially optimized. Period.
This fully bilingual crew are available at their main operations
hub at the Summit, between the Gondola and Lowell Thomas
offload peaks, and as well, they can be found circulating around
the Mountain or at critical event positions where informed assistance
is useful. They are going to be especially helpful today with both
new open terrain and some rather foggy, wet weather, so they
can literally point you in the right direction.
12.2.22.Summit.Level.Info.Ski.There.For.You.b.jpg
But wait, there’s more to the Info.Ski than just for new guests,
for example we consult with them every single day for updates
on trail openings, special event logistics, and many other
day-to-day utility functions that are useful for our own
optimized journal reporting here. In other words, they are
here, and useful, for everyone on the Mountain.
New Terrain Development News:
Versant Sud/South Side Summit level trail # 18, McCulloch, has
had snowmaking icons for a few days, but finally the work
is actually visible on the upper pitch.
12.2.22.Gondola.Views.Over.McCulloch.Snowmaking.Lac.T.c.jpg
This is only one sample of many that you can check out
on the Official Trail Status Data below. The next big, big
opening we’re waiting for is Nansen Bas/Lower, sample
pictured below. Work there has been ongoing since just
about Opening Day, although the warm glitches have
probably held it up by a couple or three days, it’s looking
really close as you pass by the Mi Chemin upper entrance
so we think that will not be too far off in the future.
12.2.22.Nansen.Bas.Lower.Ent.At.Mi.Chemin.Snowmaking.Grooming.Observations.b.jpg
Conditions Notes:
Today:
“Spring-Like”, warm, soft, and easy, everywhere.
Due to the weather forecast, it is likely that some
fussy people who freak out over a couple of drops
of rain, may stay home today, so we think there may
be light attendance and as a result, very little traffic
or wear stress on the trails.
For Future Planners:
We are projecting Sub-Zero C’s for every near-term
future overnight at Mountain elevations, so that means
there are going to be some common late-Fall daily temp
oscillations across the freezing mark over the trail network.
Consequently, there are possibilities of very firm or icy bits that
you will need tuned gear for, to optimize safety and performance.
"Don’t bring your Ferrari to the track with flat tires...”
i.e., don’t bring your skis to the Mountain without
sharp edges, because the net effect of dull edges is
the same as them flat tires on your Ferrari, poor and
unsafe performance/handling.

Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.
When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.
There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.
(
If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)
