The Very Best Sign Of Great Conditions For Today...

With the groomers running around to get everything in place
for the weekend we actually had a bit of unintended luck with
a fresh “First Tracks” groomed line on Nord/North Beauchemin
Haut/Upper late yesterday afternoon. For a handful of repeat
repetitions there was a beautiful, perfect, unused accept by us,
fresh groomed line down the complete left descending side and
it was a joy to make multiple runs in near-perfect corduroy crossing
nothing other than our own tracks to leave a continuous string of
figure 8’s right from the top, down to the Lowell Thomas plateau.
What Fun!
The Very Best Sign Of Great Conditions For Tomorrow...
12.8.22.Duncan.Bas.Lower.Big.Volume.Snowmaking.d.jpg
Above/Below: These are only two examples of many
trails with snowmaking development in progress.
Please review the Official snowmaking icon list below.
The backlit relief of the low afternoon sun shining through
this example of snowmaking on Trail #61, Duncan Bas/Lower
shows the very high efficiency of current technologies for
peak snow production, even at roughly -2C. The combination
of very fine atomization with sufficient propelled velocity out
of the nozzles is generating snowfall that could be seen in
increasing accumulations over this location, by the hour.
Departing the lower Duncan Quad Base on the lift-ride to the
Summit, the snowmaking could be seen at this thickness of
precipitate for the entire accent up to the Trail # 60, Vanier,
where it was also visible up to the top crest of the Expo Quad
peak.
The way we understand it, it is possible this Duncan Bas/Lower
descent path may be available for the weekend???

The Colours Of Fun!
You don’t have to wait for more than about 10 seconds
to see the “Colours Of Fun” at Tremblant. Since 1939,
when Lowell Thomas influenced many wealthy New
Englanders to come to the new Ski Resort at Tremblant,
fashion has been an element of every day on the slopes here.

Racers Meet At Tremblant.
12.8.22.Summit.Racers.Meet.d.jpg
There are literally hundreds of Racers and Coaches meeting
up at Tremblant for early season training and conditioning,
not to mention the social side of team spirit and new friends
and relationships. We have been featuring them continuously
for years because we find them inspirational for technique/skills
development and we recommend that you study the way they train
to add some of the drills or practice techniques you can see them
using every day here, to improve your own skillsets.
Weather Notes:
Gorgeous!
We love sunny days as much as the next person, and however
beautiful it will be with more sunny days in the future, what we
really need at this stage is some really snowing days. At least
the temps should be all pretty much below zero C at elevations,
so snowmaking will likely continue on at a furious pace.
Conditions Notes:
Newly Opening Lift Service: Versant Nord/North Side Expo Quad Open.
The simultaneous re-opening of Sissy Schuss with the Expo Quad
tells us that the upper portions of Sissy, i.e., the main descent line,
and/or, the Sissy runout to Gagnon, then back to mid-upper Sissy,
via the Gagnon side door, may be either singularly or both available.
We will have to go there to report that utility accurately.
Long Weekend 24 Hour Children’s Charity Special Event Notice:
The 24 Hour Children’s Charity Fundraiser event is always a
busy and somewhat complex logistical weekend so for best
results, you will want to consult with the Info.Ski Crews
stationed at their main Summit based location, mid-way
between the offload zones of the Gondola and Lowell Thomas
Lifts. They are in constant radio communication/contact, and
they immediately receive all the very latest in updates pertaining
to the conduct of the Event itself, as well as the coordinated efforts
to facilitate a regular ski day for those not affiliated with the event.

Otherwise and generally, today is day-2 of a post-thermal event
and as such last nights grooming is the second pass over refroze.
12.8.22.Nord.North.Lowell.Thomas.Summit.Peak.c.jpg
The second pass nearly always delivers a substantial, very noticeable
refinement in the granular particle sizes to render out an increasingly
more naturally snowy feel underfoot. We should have all of that today
especially within the newly opened Nord/North sectors like Lowell
Thomas pictured above .

If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.
When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.
There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.
(

First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)
