Today’s Open Trail Availability is...
SUBJECT TO OPERATIONAL UTILITY/SAFETY PROTOCOLS.

- Tremblant is directly affected by power grid outages.

- Tremblant is directly affected by S/W wind gusts at
Summit levels we estimate at 70 to 80 KMPH.

Repeat Of Yesterday’s Summary:

"Regardless of today’s operational considerations...

If the Mountain gets between 50 to 70 cm’s in
one winter storm/snowfall event, it will change
the outlook favourably for the entire season,
so this has a very high probability of ultimately
being incredibly beneficial for BOTH the immediate
and long term elevation of ski conditions."

We are speculating that due to the force of the wind and
the likelihood of less retention on wide open expanses,
the Sous Bois/Hors Piste trail categories may be the
main beneficiaries of this storm event.

The net effect of this storm may not be completely evident
for 3 or 4 days following. Maybe.

Weather Notes:

To put this storm cycle into perspective, and notwithstanding
the “inconveniences" of it’s rather dramatic onset, 48 hours ago
we had 93 cm’s of seasonal natural snowfall accumulations,
now, today, we have 161 cm’s. A year ago over this same 48 hour
span of time we had 151 cm’s, so we have almost instantly gone
from being quite a bit behind, to a nice little margin ahead.

Bonus... there’s more to come, if you look at the graphics
below, you’ll see there is an additional snowfall forecast
for Sunday, Christmas Day, for between 10 to 20 cm’s.

currently active winter storm system.

Conditions Notes:

We would not be surprised to see significant delays
or temporary closures within this weather profile.

Otherwise, there has been an Official 53 cm’s of snowfall
occur in 24 hours with wind gust speed exceeding 100 KMPH
with a 180 degree swing in the primary wind directions.
It does not take a rocket scientist to figure out that there
could be many unpredictable wild cards in the conditions
mix if/when it opens up.

Heavy, deep, rapidly accumulating snowfall tends to favour
Expert skills, so for all Intermediates and Beginners it will
be necessary to default to lesser challenges until safe passage
can be confirmed.

Significant drifting to depths far beyond the Official total
are highly probable and may influence changing challenge
levels by the hour.

Be Really Freakin’ Careful Out There.
