Weather Notes:

For today, just about perfect.

Looking forward...

We are not at all worried about the future forecast
yet because the most intense rainy bit icons are for
Sud/South Base levels and the temp projections then
are dropping, so the probabilities of cooler Mountain
elevations to produce snowfall are rising. We could
be wrong, but if those temp’s stay the same or lower
further, we really do have better chances of snow over
the trail network.

Conditions Notes:

This is the kind of Open Trail expansion we dream
about for any early season winter conditions.

Establishing a deep, well compacted trail base this
soon is a remarkable, very fine attribute that not
only sees the very best quick and early trail development,
but it is also a literal “Game Changer” for the entire
season, allowing for the possibility of getting the
Mountain to fully open a lot sooner than historic
averages.

The groomed open trail array should be very fine
however there may still be lingering softness in
the top layers because the snow just keeps on falling
and there’s barely time to pack the last snowfall before
the next one comes along, so residual loft is still
prevalent from one day to the next. This can make
some high traffic zones on steeper pitches subject
to mogul formations during the evolution of the day’s
wear patterns. For that reason Beginners and Intermediates
are encouraged to stick within lower challenge levels
until they are well warmed up and safe passage into
additional difficulty is warranted.

In the Sous Bois/Hors Piste/Un-Groomed categories,
the story just gets better and better with each passing
day of additional snowfall with the added bonus that
the Official total depth accumulation does not reflect
the benefit of wind induced drifting that is occurring.

It is your Expert mission to get out there and find those
deeper drifted in zones, then keep quiet about them so
you can get all your own fresh tracks!

Holiday Guest/Seasonal “First Timers”...

There are still lots of folks who have not yet
been out so far this season and these Holiday
dates may be your first time on skis/board this
winter, so we want to urge you to pace yourself
and take it easy with those new skis Santa had
under the tree for you 3 days ago.

Enthusiasm can often override practicality and
we’re encouraging a careful approach to matching
your realistic muscle reserves with the length of
the day, or days you’ll be out for. Be sure to support
your Alpine Snow Sports efforts with appropriate
Apres Ski nutrition too. Placing an unusual stress
on dormant muscles should be offset with a higher
protein intake for recovery and growth. It’s a great
excuse to indulge in some leftover turkey to get them
quad muscles fuelled up and ready for tomorrow.

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.
