Very Big Snowmaking Development News!

Expo Haut/Upper, Expo Bas/Lower With
Snowmaking Icons Showing This Morning!

Anyone riding up the Expo Quad for the last week
has seen all the snowguns laid out sequentially over
the entire vertical of Expo’s length and here we have
just about a perfect 4 day window of cool(which if you
look closely at the 30 year averages is actually quite
close to normal for these dates), to optimize snowmaking
production.

We think the “Big Bumps” that will be seen growing by
the hour here should be of a relatively dry composition
because of the double-digit Minus “C” temps that should
help render virtually instantaneous snowfall out of the
nozzles as the micro-particles of atomized water hit the
super-chilled air.

Weather Notes:

It says “Sunny” but at this stage, it’s actually overcast
and snowing, so we’ll just have to wait for the forecast
possibilities to develop here for today.

In the long range, nice and easy... If you are a regional
Tremblant fan with discretionary planning ability, plan
to be here over the next two weeks. The traffic will
likely be a fraction of the Holiday numbers, there’s
snow in the forecast, and the temp’s are very easy, so far.

Beginners And Intermediates:

A good shot of cool overnight, combined with
a fair amount of accumulating snowfall over
the past 3 days should help to render an
increasingly fine and durable finished groomed
trail network this morning.

We think the quality today should show a
noticeable uptick in refinement and more
wide-ranging stability which is typical for
grooming over successive days of sub-zero
C’s, not to mention....

Yesterdays traffic patterns were lighter than
we might have expected to see, especially
in the afternoon, so one thing that tells us
is that there are some of the regional Holiday
travellers that are already starting to make
the longer commutes home. For example,
we’ve met a TON of folks recently from NYC
and it is an 8 Hour one-way drive, so we
suspect that entire group could be absent
today as they make the trek home.

If, if, if, that was the case, the typical Sunday
afternoon attendance profile could mean an
extraordinarily quiet afternoon where close
at hand regional Tremblant fans may seem
to have the Mountain to themselves, much
as you might imagine a private club.

We could be wrong, but in any event, we’ll
get back to you on that one.

--------------- 2:25 P.M. Insert Update: -------------------

Evidently, it was not busy this afternoon,
so we believe our traffic forecast was accurate.

want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.
