T360 Late Night Apres Ski Edit, Under Construct At 11:41 P.M.
We think our forecast for a seasonal so-far top conditions
day was quite accurate. Basically we got all the performance
and refinements we were looking for and thought possible.
It was an excellent “Front-Side Carving Day”!

We had all the benefits of super cool cryogenic snow,
but with temperatures moderated over elevations by
one of the largest warmer Summit inversions we’ve
ever seen, and that made it a fun and easy day.

One of the single most popular Expert trails, Versant Nord/North Side
Expo is fully under snowmaking construction and we would estimate
its completion sometime between “soon”, and the end of this week.
It should be noted that historically Expo has been opened in both naked
big bumps, or as a completely winch groomed super fine and flat trail,
so depending on those two options, the timing of its opening could be different.

For tomorrow, similar, if not even just wee bit warmer,
so at this stage, conditions wise, very good chances
of a basic repeat.

The Signs Are All Clear...
Stop What You Are Doing, And Head For Tremblant!

(It may be a bit of a long headline, but we think it’s going to be accurate...)
Due to this being the third overnight of cryogenic exposures
plus, all three nights of grooming compaction that should be
generating near-optimal trail surface densities, we are forecasting
one of the top, front-side carving, refined performance days of
the so-far season, for today.
For those who are counting, the difference between
yesterdays 95 open trails and todays 93 open trails
are Versant Sud/South Side Summit Sector trails # 18
and 22, “McCulloch”, and “Kandahar” respectively, both
of which you can see here below as the 2 main trails
to the immediate right of the TGV Quad Chair lift.
Both of these trails are under development for race
course purposes and as usual, we are happy to see
that as ultimately when the races are over, we get
all the benefits of the extraordinary surface prep.
that all race descents need to be built up to.

Weather Notes:
Wow... a possible rise from actual -23 C to -2 C = 21 C increase!
Nice if it happens that way!
Conditions Notes:
Todays theme is “Wide Ranging Refinement”.
Three “Cold-Snap” mornings in a row, plus the daily
grooming cycles over a big bunch of recent fresh
snowfall should produce some really spectacular
front-side carving conditions today.
It is also possible that this could be one of the
lightest traffic days following the Holiday period
that seems to have been somewhat continuous
since about December 23. If, if, if... that was true,
then the excellence we think you’ll find at first
tracks has a very high probability of being much
the same at last run.
As a byproduct of all of this, we also think that there
may be a very high degree of easy skill level connectivity
because what will seem like very easy transitions between
the Green and the Blue skill level trails, so what we see
there are great learning conditions that should help
confident Beginners and Intermediates in particular,
move up in challenge with a quick natural progression.
For Experts, there is absolutely something for everyone.
From high speed groomed, to bumps, to Sous Bois/Hors Piste
to super-steep trails # 14/13 Zig-Zag and Vertige, Experts of
all flavours should be able to find more excitement and challenge
than muscles can keep up with.
As far as we are concerned, the “Cherry On Top” is going to
end up being just how fantastic that will all seem for everyone
under a sunny sky with light breezes and temps rising up to -2 C.
