T360 Apres Midnight Apres Ski Edit, Under Construct At 12:13 A.M.

Wow... A big wet thermal burp, followed by a quick, deep drop
in temps. The consequent re-solidification of all trail surfaces
generated a day of very exacting technical skiing.

The saving factor for ease of use is groomed smooth.

Grooming also produced shallow loose top layers
however with the emphasis on “shallow”, one had
to be very, very judicious in edging energy as grip
was commensurately tender and any sudden or
jerky control moves were prone to blow-out.

“This is our second year coming up from Miami and we love it here.”

There was periodic heavy snowfall and that created
wildly distorted illusions of what appeared to be some
very strange looking creatures...

Lots more detail in the morning, but for tomorrow
ski-wise...

-7 C and SNOWING...

“Day-2” of stabilized grooming mitigation
should yield far greater and further widespread
soft, loose top layers.

New snow, if significant could accelerate quality
and performance.

Weather Notes:

Two Important Seasonal Markers Here:

1) Tomorrow could be one of the last pure,
sub-zero c Winter days left in the season.

2) Yikes !!! April 1 is in the 14 day long range
outlook. The clock is ticking folks!

Conditions Notes:

Adverse weather happens, and we’re actually surprised at
how long we have enjoyed remarkable stability in conditions
to this point in March without having really any kind of
significant “Spring” thermal intrusion.

For that reason, i.e., the pre-existing base quality, we
think today is going to be an 80/20 % day, where at
least 80% of the open terrain is going to good to very
fine, and the other 20% may be a little rough around
the edges.

Obviously, the 80% part is going to highly favour the
freshly Groomed category, although there may be some
“recently groomed” that are good to go as well. In our
opinion, those recently groomed are most likely to be
within the Versant Nord/North Side, Haut/Upper sectors.

Equally obviously, the Sous Bois/Hors Piste/Glades and
Un-Groomed are the most sensitive and affected by the
adverse weather and there are so many wild-cards in
this category that risking forecast predictions beyond
“Wait And See” is inappropriate.

--------- Conditions Caveats: --------

Adverse Weather with warm/wet to froze, means sharp
well tuned edges are critical for safe descent control.
Be aware of, and observe patterns around crests over to
pitches below, that could expose potential icy bits that
may evolve with daily traffic/use. Cautious speed is
warranted in all initial explorations. Allow extra passing
margins around other traffic. There are “Spring Break”
guests of variable entry level skills who may exhibit
sudden or unusual directional or speed behaviours.

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.
