It has snowed a lot and with a complex swirling wind
component that generates a lot of variable challenge.

It is still snowing a lot with a complex swirling wind
component that generates a lot more variable challenge...

For Your Info. And Best Results Today,
We Recommend Consults With The
Unique Tremblant Info.Ski Crews.

Every single member of the Info.Ski Crews is fully
bilingual and has years of Tremblant experience.

They are here for the singular purpose of optimizing
your day, so when there’s a really complex weather
matrix, we suggest you talk to them frequently during
the day to take advantage of the radio-controlled
updates and insights they receive on a minute-by-minute
basis from Customer Service and Mountain Op’s.

Weather Notes:

At the worst, we think there may be a sleety-snowy mix
for a bit today, but the actual temp is cooler than the
forecast of days ago suggested it might be. Also, due
to the short duration of the warmth today which is
bracketed by Sub-Zero C’s, we think the winds aloft
where the precipitation is coming from, may be quite
a bit cooler. Bottom line on this is that with a lot less
wind speed now, we’re hopeful that the snow that falls
today will settle more evenly.

As far as the long range 14 day forecast is concerned, the
upcoming period still shows very significant potential for
some serious night and day snowfall catch-up to build the
seasonal accumulation total.

Regional Tremblant fans should be planning accordingly
for this genuine winter period developing over the near-term.

What They’re NOT Telling You About This Storm System...

Please Note: The document below includes annotated
text reference to “Orographic” snowfall potential as
a major possible component to this approaching
snowstorm system. For a definition of orographic
please refer to our “Tremblant Geographic” section
where we have posted a specific orographic labeled
topic @ http://tinyurl.com/2f49szyw .

Conditions Notes:

Todays conditions may have a high degree of variability
in individual challenge due to wind shaped thickness
or exposure, either of which could generate unique
difficulty. For those reasons, it is important that Beginners
and Intermediates really pay attention to rated challenge
levels and even dial it back a notch until you are thoroughly
warmed up and very confident you can maintain control,
prior to exploring more difficult terrain.

Very deep, abundant fresh snowfall definitely favours
legitimate Expert Skills so if you are a Beginner or
an aspiring Intermediate, you may want to stay within
the boundaries of the main groomed terrain for at
least a day or two until grooming can get a couple
of passes to render out some of the loft for a more
ideal rate of compacted density.

If you are a genuine Expert, you just won the lottery.

We can tell you for a fact that there will be drifted-in
zones with up to 50% or more, than the posted accumulation
totals due to the very high wind velocity that the new
snow has been delivered on. There will be all kinds
of pockets of powder snow that due to swirling vortex
action, will have been created over and around Mountain
contours and it is your mission to go forth and safely
explore to find them.

We also think it’s possible the Open Trail list could
change today, so that’s another reason to periodically
check with Info.Ski Crews during the day.

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you “Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.
