The value of practice days can not be overstated.
This is a point that is clearly understood by Race
Kids and their parents, but not so clearly understood
by recreational skiers who, in relative sense, would
benefit every bit as much within the scale of their
own skill sets.

We are inspired by Race Kids who demonstrate natural
aptitude and we respectfully suggest that any level of
recreational skier can find keys to personal development
by emulating the elements and styles of these Kids into
their own practice.

A lot of recreational skiers are content to simply make
it down the hill with only a passing interest in actually
improving. The concept of practice training is totally
secondary to keeping up to the group, getting somewhere
ASAP to meet up with a group, getting to the Chalet for
a beer, getting bragging rights from surviving a wild, mostly
out of control run down Black Taschereau when you’re
actually an Intermediate... and on and on and on... when
time invested on the beautiful, gentle terrain of Nansen
in the form of descent repetitions where you can actually
focus on technique and nuance, would make you visibly
better in a few hours.

The point is that if you see a 9 year old Race kid and
admire their speed, skills and agility while you see them
free skiing practice days, realize that you could look like
that, you could be that good, if you trained and practiced
with the same dedication for a portion of your day, every
day you have on the slopes.

Weather Notes:

What we are hoping for is that during the period
of hourly forecast mixed precipitation, while base
levels may be a couple of degrees on the plus side,
that the inherently cooler Mountain elevations remain
just below Zero C, and that there might even be winds
aloft over the Summit that could be cooler yet, with
the precip. over the trails being all snow.

There is a lot of excellence in the Sous Bois, but there
are also significant challenges and some hazards. Pay
close attention to Ski Patrol hand posted warnings
and use caution in all initial explorations.
