102/102(*) Open Trails.
Please Note: There is and has been a slight
contradiction in the Official data as Versant
Sud/South Side # 24 Ryan Bas/Lower is shown
as closed. Ryan Bas/Lower is considered a
separate and distinct trail from Ryan Haut/Upper
even though it shares the same number.

Below:
We’ve seen a lot of this very close to Zero C
weather at the Summit. Fortunately, its been
mostly just below, and fortunately with overcast
so no sun-baked thaw. As a result, the trail snow
has remained all winter-like with great natural
speed and easy control.

Weather Notes:

A bit of an unusual winter reboot when you consider
the day-to-night hours temp spread in the 14 day
long range outlook. Very easy to see the warmth
but just below Zero C for the most part in the day,
however where the winter reboot comes into play is
the row of very consistent overnight lows that will
certainly reenforce the chill in the hill.

Conditions Notes:

In The Groomed:

Due to an increase in surface layer humidity with
temps that just touched the freezing mark in
recent days, we may see a higher degree of
solidity in the groomed trail base that has had
a definite overnight refreeze. To a certain
extent, that may be more or less in sectors
depending on what hour of the Night-Shift
the grooming was done in relation to the temp.
drop. Those areas groomed as the temp dropped
may be more solid than those areas groomed
well after the temp drop. Look for patterns within
zones. Today may be a day where after a bit of
exploration you’ll find an area that works really
well for your skills, so don’t be afraid to stick with it.

The bottom lines here are that sharp, fresh edges
will be a major asset and that all initial explorations
should be conducted at reduced speeds to confirm
safe passage under full directional and speed control.

In the Sous Bois/Hors Piste/Glades And Un-Groomed:

The open Sous Bois/Hors Piste may well be the categories
that benefit most from a refreeze because it tends to
re-crystallize whatever humidity induced thickness there
may have been with warmer temps and that has the net
effect of restoring light dryness in the untracked zones.

In the Un-Groomed mogul zones, a refreeze generally
means things may be very “crusty” for a period of time
until either traffic scrapes off the crust, or we get a major
new snowfall. This is a trail group that is heavily monitored
by the Ski Patrol and where hand posted signage may
most often be found. Cautionary warning advisories
should be taken with the upmost seriousness for both
required skills and hazard to equipment and safety.

If it’s been awhile since you’ve been out, or you’re
new to the area, it’s always a good idea to check with
the Tremblant Info.Ski team for up-to-the-minute
conditions or trail skill matching consults.

If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
