Excellent Versant Nord/North Side Terrain Development News!

Part 1)...

Summit-To-Base Ski-Out To Total Mountain Vertical Underway!

Snowmaking To Beauchemin Bas/Lower,
All The Way Over To The Duncan Quad!

Here is a repeat from our Apres Midnight Apres Ski
last night. We’re running this again as both a “Proof
of Snowmaking”, and as well because the relief from
the night lighting at the base of the Expo quad actually
shows the snowmaking in very good clinical detail, the fine
atomization coming out of the nozzles is quite apparent.

These snowmaking zones are going to literally connect
the dots(if you consider the “Big Bumps” of snowmaking
in a linear pattern from top-to-bottom), for the largest
expansions of publicly available descents since Opening Day.

Arguably, the most important, at least in our opinion, is
Summit-to-Base ski-out to the Versant Nord/North Side
Devils River Base lodge and public parking. This alone
quickly escalates Tremblant operations into the “Normal”
zone as base levels can be utilized without downloading
from the Summit at last run.

We estimate that it could be physically possible to build
Nord/North Summit-to-Base as soon as next weekend,
however that is no insight into opening priorities that we
have no knowledgable of and there could be any number
of legitimate reasons it may not occur until later than that.

Part 2)....

Lowell Thomas Sector Trail # 68, Rope Tow, With Snowmaking!

Secondly, we have been reporting on Versant Nord/North Side
Trail # 69, Rigodon as having snowmaking, however until now
there has not been a way to get down to it’s entrance. With
the addition of snowmaking being shown down from the
Summit on Rope Tow, the dots along this Lowell Thomas
sector descent line are going to be connected for the first time.

We think there may very shortly be additional snowmaking in
this zone because typically, Mountain Op’s also develops the
La Traverse(Trail # 73), that intersects with Beauchemin
Haut/Upper, at the same time. Once these trails are established,
the bulk of the Racer training usually moves to Rigodon, so that
helps take care of the Rug-rat population that’s been whizzing around .

Weather Notes:

Continued fantastic for snowmaking, and with any luck,
Mother Nature may make a contribution too. Looking below
to the 10 day forecast, pay particular attention to the
Wed./Thurs. period where there is a good combination
of snowfall probability with higher velocity winds. That
can often result in a robust orographic enhancement
as the wind pushes the warmer moist surface air up and
over the ramp-like shape of the Mountain, causing it to
hit colder upper atmospheric strata where it condenses
into more snow.

Any bump up in natural snowfall accumulations can mean
a virtually immediate acceleration of opening terrain schedules
and that could be a huge asset for Nord/North public access
during the time period of Sud/South restrictions allocated
to the 24 Hour Children’s Charity Fundraiser event coming up.

Conditions Notes:

Today should have a substantially enhanced ski/Board experience
due to yesterday’s opening of Nord/North Beauchemin Haut/Upper
that has effectively doubled the available square area of terrain,
thereby and immediately distributing the traffic loads over this
expansion and increasing the durable surface quality everywhere.

Grooming smoothness should last longer, in both terms of even
grip capacity over longer lasting soft, even top layers, as well
as being mogul resistant, there’s just way less turning force
concentrations to either build up moguls or expose any icy bits.

Archival copy of Official Daily Message:

DAILY MESSAGE

Tremblant welcomes you this Sunday! As you may have
noticed, the unpredictable weather had an impact on our
operations. The mild temperatures in recent weeks have
meant fewer opportunities to run our snowmaking systems.
However, our team is always on the lookout for every chance
to create the perfect conditions for you. Although most of
our accessible terrain is classified as beginner, please
consider it suitable for intermediate and advanced skiers
and snowboarders due to the crowding on the limited terrain.
Plan ahead for the end of your day on the slopes, as the return
to the South base will also need to be done by gondola.

The forecast is promising, allowing us to plan for the opening
of more skiable slopes and lifts in the near future. Several areas
of the mountain are undergoing gradual snowmaking, taking
into account the needs for our upcoming event: the 24h Tremblant
from December 13-15.

F.Y.I. Repeat:

--------- Major F.I.S. Women’s World Cup GS News Update - Event Cancellation: ----------

Well, what can you say, very disappointing for sure
but weather outside human control is responsible.
With thousands of hours of preparations, a full year
in the making, we can only imagine this has to be
the epitome of frustrations of “weather permitting”.

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you “Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.
