7(*) Open Trails.

Automatically Best Day Of New Season So Far, because...

Summit-To-Base, Ski-Out OPENING, Versant Nord/North Side
Via Beauchemin Bas/Lower!

Carve This... if you can...

You can do this all day, in exactly these super snowy
conditions, if you have the skills and the muscle...

Above: This is our exact performance forecast for today
and if you think it looks fast, that’s because it is. The
new snowfall is a fine/small, dry, crystalline particle that
made desert-sand waves in the brisk wind it came on
last night and typically that’s a low friction, high speed
environment. (Please see our yesterday Apres Ski, Summit
weather observations post for pic. detail.)

Duncan High Speed Detachable Quad OPEN!

Big, Huge, Immense, Large, Grand, Excellent Mountain Access Logistical News!

Finally... If you’re driving to the Mountain from “Anyville",
you can park by a chair-lift, ski or board all day, then
have “Last Run”, right down to the Nord/North Base,
get in your car and go home WITHOUT DOWNLOADING.

PLUS...

15 cm’s of New Natural Snowfall, so far...

Weather Notes:

It’s not a blizzard, but it is a very good early season
snowstorm that is absolutely making a positive difference
to the initial trail openings and overall quality.

It’s likely that it’ll be really messy, and maybe a bit hazardous
getting to and from the Mountain today....

Conditions Notes:

Super mild n’ easy winter temps in a snowstorm
with the very first day of total Mountain vertical
access on Nord/North slopes will make today
a joyful experience, especially for Experts.

For Beginners and Intermediates, this much new
snowfall all at once is a wee bit more than can be
ideally compacted in a single daily grooming cycle,
so it is possible that there will be sectors of softness
where density is on the loose side. Traffic in these
areas may be prone to mogul formations over the
course of the day. For that reason we recommend
starting on very easy terrain and warm up thoroughly
before attempting additional challenge. You may
encounter ruts or chopped up/tracked up ridges
of looser snow build-ups that can trip you up by
acting as a braking effect at the ski tip while the
momentum of your upper body wants to keep moving.
This can result in heads over heels with too much
speed.

SLOW DOWN until you are very comfortable with
the conditions at low speeds and only use additional
speed if you can maintain absolute speed control
at all times.

Generally speaking, we think the break-in usually
needed or advantageous, will be less so in the newly
opened Beauchemin Bas/Lower because of the high
ratio of natural snow fallen in the past 24 hours that
will be blended into the finished mix of trail surface.

Any of the good pre-existing trail conditions are going
to be immediately elevated by the new snow, however
the ultimate benefit will being tomorrow after another
night-shift grooming cycle that comes closer to ideal
rates of compaction. If you’re a regional Ski/Board fan
with discretionary capabilities for attendance, toss your
gear in the vehicle tonight so you won’t have any delays
for an early morning departure and just go.

Archival copy of Official Daily Message:

Bonjour Tremblant! The mountain is absolutely breathtaking
this morning, blanketed in fresh, powdery snow! We’ve received
15 cm of new snow since yesterday, and it’s only getting better!
This morning, we’re excited to add the Duncan Express to our
list of open lifts. From the summit to the North Base, you can
enjoy the stunning views via the Beauchemin Bas trail. Plus,
the Alpine and Beauvallon Haut trails will let you make the
most of the snow on the South Side.

The forecast is looking fantastic, and we're gearing up to open
even more skiable trails and lifts in the coming days. Several
mountain areas are currently being progressively snowed in,
all in preparation for our highly anticipated 24h Tremblant event,
happening from December 13th to 15th. Get ready for an
unforgettable winter adventure!

If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you “Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
