11(*) Open Trails.
The Good News Just Keeps On Rolling In!
Versant Nord/North Side:
Lowell Thomas Sector ---> OPENING !
Versant Sud/South Side:
Nansen And Nansen Bas/Lower ----> Snowmaking Top-To-Bottom !!!
Here’s Exactly What You’re Going To See On Your First Ride Up Duncan.
12.6.24.PB228.Duncan.Quad.Views.Snowy.Ride.Up.Sample.a.jpg
Weather Notes:
It’s going to seem really kkkkool out due to a gusty
vigorous wind that will make todays temp range feel
like it has a noticeable, edgy bite.
The benefit of this cool is for both the migration of
sub-zero C’s into the core of the Mountain where it
is stored within its mass as a refrigerant that keeps
the trail base stable and durable, as well as the very
high quality descent experience that is inherently
within very cool and dry snow crystals.
With a basic Westerly wind orientation, the easiest
lift ride will be up the TGV with the “breezes” at
your back. On the flip-side, skiing down La Crete,
as you approach the top of Beauvallon/Alpine, you
may feel like you’re in a wind tunnel. Same wind
tunnel thing as you crest either the Lowell Thomas
or Duncan Quads to the Summit.
------- Bundle Up Alert --------
A word to the wise...
For all these reasons it is critically important to
secure outer garment closures and overlaps
completely, before you hit the trail. Any gaps
or exposed skin can strip out your inner heat
beginning in seconds if you are not prepared.
Summit facing wind chill values could drop
into the -25C range during peak gusts that
can be close to double ground levels.
Conditions Notes:
Rapid, abundant, deep fresh new snowfall favours
Expert skill levels because at 18cm’s of new accumulations
in 24 hours, there will be softness in the freshly
groomed top layers that has not yet achieved optimized
density. That softness will most likely allow traffic induced
mogul formations over the course of the day, however,
due to the variable wind directions and wind velocity
that were present in the storm, the softness may occur
in patterns where snowfall settled over the Mountain with
unique depths.
For that reason all explorations by Beginners and
Intermediates should be undertaken with the utmost
care and absolute speed control throughout the day
as conditions/challenge may be highly evolutionary,
especially where traffic concentrates because trails
intersect, converge or follow topographical descent
contours.
Groomed trail surface optimization on one overnight
pass can typically integrate up to 10cm’s, so with 18 cm’s
it may take a day or 2 to become more forgiving across
Beginner and Intermediate terrain.
Legitimate Experts... Go Wild!!!
We are extremely encouraged to see Nansen Bas/Lower
with snowmaking icons. This is fantastic news for those
arriving next week as with development this far in advance
of the 24Hr Children’s Charity event, there’s a very high
probability of having what could be arguably the most
practical descent path to the Sud/South Resort base for
all skill levels, fully functional for public access during
the event.
We also think its great news to see snowmaking on Sud/South
Trail # 20, Desserres. This is strong indication that we could
see something like Trail #23, Taschereau, for example, as
also being developed in near future.
Below:
Here’s an example from last evening clearly showing
the way wind shapes snowfall accumulations. While
this is a dimensionally small sample, it can be scaled
up to represent the whole Mountain with the snowfall
accumulations that will be unique to this active weather
systems dynamics of wind direction and velocity.
Looking from left to right across the front of the TGV
Quad within a 5 metre span there is between zero
accumulation in the wind tracks, to up to an estimated
35 cm’s accumulations in the adjacent drift lines.
Part of the Expert fun at Tremblant is exploring after a big snowfall
event to find out where all the really big accumulations zones are!
With that in mind, even though it’s a tiny/small trail, keep an eye out
for # 75, Versant Nord/North Side “Andy Moe” to maybe show open.
This little sweet spot gets a lot of natural snow laid in just below the
Summit so it’s a sure sign of natural accumulations building when
it gets opened between P’tit Bonheur and Beauchemin Haut/Upper.

Archival Copy Of Official Daily Message:
Bonjour Tremblant! The mountain is absolutely breathtaking this morning, blanketed in fresh,
powdery snow! We’ve received 18 cm of new snow since yesterday, and it’s only getting better!
Today, once again, the summit will be accessible via the Cable Car from the South and the
Duncan from the North. From the summit to the North Base, you can enjoy the stunning views
via the Beauchemin trail. Plus, we plan on opening 4 more trails during the day.
Please take note that the alpine touring trails are closed.
The forecast is looking fantastic, and we're gearing up to open even more skiable trails and lifts
in the coming days. Several mountain areas are currently being progressively snowed in, all in
preparation for our highly anticipated 24h Tremblant event, happening from December 13th to 15th.
Get ready for an unforgettable winter adventure!
Mountain Safety Tip of the Week: Respect signs and closed trails

Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.
When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.
There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.
(
If you “Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.
