16(*) Open Trails.
Please Note: There is a slight math anomaly
in the Official data. When you add up all the
Open check marks, there are 17. We also
note that while the Expo Quad is shown Open,
there is no Open trail indicated from the top
of the Expo sector to either side. We suspect
that the access is Gagnon Haut or the old
top portion of Sissy Schuss which has been
renamed “Detour”, any or all down to the
Lowell Thomas base plateau.

18(*) REVISED Open Trails.
Please Note: If you count up all the open trail check
marks, there are actually 20 open trails. Not sure why
the math is out, but at least we have an Expo sector
descent path shown now Via the Sissy Schuss Detour.
Basically, without Sissy Schuss or Fuddle-Duddle,
the current descent cycle off the Expo Quad is
from Gagnon Bas/Lower, to Beauchemin Bas/Lower.
See all previously attached notes below.
Archival Data Attached Below.

Expo Quad OPEN.
(see Conditions Notes attached below for more detail)
Here is an archival file shot of the zone in question.
What you are looking at is the top of the original
Sissy Schuss which has now been renamed “Detour”
with the trail # 46, as seen from the Expo Quad
as it approaches its peak.
In this picture, Detour runs out to the left side of
the frame where you can see the fence in the distance,
over to Mid-Gagnon in a reverse “S” shape. Sissy Schuss
itself continues in a straight line out of the far end of this frame.
Weather Notes:
Getting Back To “Easy”.
------------- Supplementary Weather Data: ---------------
This is evidently going to be a very active weather week.
What we’re hoping for is that most, if not all of the precip.
is going to be snow. With the forecast temps, cooler
elevations stand a really good chance, so fingers crossed
on that.
Conditions Notes:
The themes today will be “Warmer” and “Refinement”.
Warmer is perfectly obvious and way, way easier.
Refinement is what we forecast across all skill levels
of freshly groomed terrain as the snowfall has largely
come to an end for this event before grooming started
last night so there should be a noticeable increase in
finished trail surface density.
Regarding The Expo Sector Opening:
There are some anomalies in the Official reporting
previously noted with the opening of the Expo Quad
and the descent options from the Expo sector peak.
The old trail # 79, Sissy Schuss, basically the same
pathway since 1948, has now had the top section
that runs in a reverse “S” shape out to the mid-point
of Gagnon, renamed to “Detour” with an Official
trail number assignment of 46. Trail # 46 was
previously assigned to Soleil Sector “Flume” at
the bottom between #47, Laurentienne and
# 42, Tapecul, just above the Soleil Quad Base.
Flume no longer exists on the new Official printed
trail map.
At 6:57 A.M. we are not sure about the available descent
path from the top of the Expo Quad, as there is no
Officially open descent shown there to either side
(which would have to be either Vanier to Duncan
Bas/Lower, or Gagnon Haut/Upper, Fuddle-Duddle
Haut, or Detour, or Sissy Schuss Bas/Lower
Fuddle-Duddle Bas/Lower), yet, however that will
all sort out in near-future updates. Logically,
there would be no purpose in opening the Expo
Quad without a descent path, so for those reasons,
we might expect a revised Official Open Trail list shortly.
Please Also Note: There is a huge disparity between the
temp’s reported on the Official list at -18C, and the
actual weather data at -6C. The latter is correct.

If you’re quick, and you’ve still got some muscle...
there’s still time for a fast “Last Run” on Beauchemin!

Archival Copy Of Official Daily Message:
Bonjour Tremblant! The mountain is absolutely breathtaking this morning, blanketed in fresh,
powdery snow! We’ve received 38 cm of new snow in the last 3 days, and it’s only getting better!
Today, once again, the summit will be accessible via the Cable Car from the South and the Duncan
from the North. From the summit to the North Base, you can enjoy the stunning views via the Beauchemin trail.
Please take note that the alpine touring trails are closed.
The forecast is looking fantastic, and we're gearing up to open even more skiable trails and lifts in
the coming days. Several mountain areas are currently being progressively snowed in, all in preparation
for our highly anticipated 24h Tremblant event, happening from December 13th to 15th.
Get ready for an unforgettable winter adventure!
Mountain Safety Tip of the Week: Respect signs and closed trails.
