The sun finally came out today and as you can see it
quickly became a glorious day, one for the books, and...
where was everyone? Saturday school break but not that busy???
Seriously folks... there’s at least/roughly/about/approximately,
10 days or so of very sweet spring with winter overtones that
you should be planning for...

Very Snowy, Very Fine!
The forecast says “Sunny” but so-far, it looks Exactly like yesterday!

Weather Notes:
While You Were Asleep...
There will be vast tracts of early excellence due to
quite nearly ideal grooming conditions through the
middle of the night-shift.
Fantastic low temps help to crystallize the humidity
out of the new snow and Mountain Op’s grooms
optimal density into beautifully finished slopes, all
while you are sleeping and dreaming of the fun
you’re going to have all day!

And Here’s What You Get !!!
3.19.26.Nord.North.Devils.River.Super.Smooth.Super.Fine.b.jpg
Conditions Notes:
Generally:
It is the last Saturday of the Ontario School Spring Break Week...
It could be busy... Please be patient in lift lines, please allow
extra courtesy and passing margins in widely skill-shared
open terrain where there are a high percentage of learners
with early and unrefined skills development that may make
sudden or abrupt directional or speed changes without notice
or situational awareness in front of you.
There is no such thing as “They Cut Me Off” at a Ski Resort.
Uphill Skiers/Boarders are ALWAYS responsible for avoidance
of those below. Speeding or straight-liner bombers have ZERO
right-of-way.
Scan, scan, scan and then scan some more before and while
navigating crowded or busy slopes across all skill levels.
Depending on traffic... Conditions could be highly evolutionary
today, across all skill levels and Open terrain categories. Do
not assume that conditions in/on any given trail/zone, on the
next run you take there will be the same as the last run you
took there, especially and directly proportional to the time-gap
between runs, as well as the slope/pitch angles that may be more
sensitive to wear factors.
Look for developing patterns and apply those insights to your
own proactive situational awareness.
In The Groomed:
Fantastic early first tracks conditions of cold stabilized
overnight grooming producing very fine mid-winter
corduroy.
Conditions are subject to Holiday weekend traffic, so
patterns of use will become evident by mid-to-late
morning and will evolve from there. The fortunate
part for durability today is that with all the new snow
this week is that when repeatedly groomed integrated
into the base there is remarkably little icy in the base.
In The Sous Bois/Hors Piste/Glades and Un-Groomed:
Basically, a repeat of yesterday:
All this new snow will absolutely regenerate favourable
conditions, however there are a lot of complex Expert
challenges because the base structure has never been
mechanically levelled in the majority of cases(#) so Sous
Bois trails/zones do not have uniform packed strata to
rely on. Consequently there is almost infinite variability
potentially within/along descent lines that need Expert
experience and instantly adaptable technique to navigate
safely.
Adventure is around every corner, but it wants responsible
explorations with genuine top level bush/bump skills.
(#) See pervious 3/18/26 Sous Bois notes.
