Tremblant International Blues Festival: A first incredible
weekend Concerts from spokesperson Zachary Richard
and Bobby Bazini tomorrow evening
Mont-Tremblant, July 13th, 2010 – After a first amazing weekend
as for the crowd and the great concerts, Tremblant International
Blues Festival continues and still has a lot in store for its visitors!
Happy hour from 5 to 7 at the summit, Zachary Richard, Bobby
Bazini and memorable moments to come at L'Aire du Blues!
Under Tremblant's hot sun, artists stepping on the many Tremblant
stages heated up the ambience of this first weekend of the Festival.
Amongst them, there was Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Mason Rack
(from Australia), Festival's regular Carl Tremblay and Louisianian
Sherman Robertson. Jack de Keyzer, Joe Murphy Band &
Bharath Rajakumar, Roy Rogers & The Delta Rhythm Kings,
Babe Ruth and Les Dudek, entertained brilliantly.
And there is still more to come! The Festival features numerous
other concerts worth the stop. First of all, last night, the summit
concert started at 5 p.m. Other concerts are on the program on
the highest summit of the Laurentians at sunset every day this week.
In addition, guests lodging on-site in participating hotels get a free
lift ticket for the panoramic gondola up to the summit as added
value for their stay. On the schedule tonight: Tribute to Howlin' Wolf.
Tomorrow, a lot of excitement awaits visitors. Last year's Festival's
favourite, Matt Andersen, will give two shows. The rising star
Bobby Bazini will open the evening at 7 p.m. and will be followed
by the Festival's spokesperson Zachary Richard, at 8:30 p.m.
The evening also features; Eric Lindell and Bonerama. Later on,
the party continues in the many bars and restaurants! The next day,
for those who would like to meet our spokesperson in a more
intimate venue, he will be hosting the daily workshop at
l'Aire du Blues.
Later this week, don't miss the shows of Tab Benoît in solo on Thursday.
He is also the head of Voice of the Wetlands All Stars, an ambitious
musical project involved in the preservation of the wet lands of the
Louisiana bayou Delta, giving a show later on that day. Still on
Thursday, starting from 7:30 p.m., visitors will have the chance
to attend the concerts of Ronnie Baker Brooks and Janiva Magness
(winner of a Blues Music Awards in the B.B. King Entertainer of the
Year category in 2009). On Friday, Matt Schofield will perform on
the Volkswagen stage at 7 p.m. and will be followed by Coco Montoya
at 8:30 p.m. as Rod Piazza & The Mighty Flyers (winner of many
Blues and W.C. Handy Awards) will take on the Casino de
Mont-Tremblant stage on Place St-Bernard. Saturday July 17th,
it's time for Tommy Castro Band (winner of this year's Blues
Music Awards in the B.B. King Entertainer of the Year category)
to impress the crowd. Finally, the End of Festival's Jam will be
the occasion to relive the best moments of these 10 days of
festivities.
L'Aire du Blues: An dome of electrifying ambiance!
This special, more intimate venue is devoted to blues culture.
Here, the public gets a chance to meet artists and hear
their musings on inspiration, secrets, philosophies… listen to
up-close performances and participate in discussions. It is also
the store of the official Festival boutique featuring clothing,
gear and much more. New! Blues fans seeking their minute
of glory are invited to the Blues'araoke auditions, a derived
version of karaoke with a Blues twist, on July 15-16 and 17th
starting at 11:30 a.m. Winners will have the chance to step
on stage for a performance with a real band, in front of an
actual crowd on July 18th.
Privileges brought by Volkswagen
If you own a Volkswagen, you get a free VIP parking on
Saturday and Sunday but hurry, there are only fifty
spaces available. Also, a must-do on Saturday and Sunday
is the 10-minute percussion workshop. Samajam invites
visitors under the Volkswagen tent, at the top of the
Cabriolet for a teambuilding of percussions.
