Ski Le Gap is a U.K. based "Gap Year" ski/board
instructional program that trains students that are
taking a "gap" year, i.e., a year off between high
school and university, to become certified ski or
snowboard instructors. The program has been conducted
at Tremblant since 1994 and has produced
(as of 2010), some 1500 very capable skiers and boarders.
It is basically an "immersion" type format where
participants train 7 days a week for either a 1 month
intensive course before Christmas, or from early January
until March 18th or so,month and "graduate" with a ski
or snowboard instructors certification at the highest level
they can attain within the alloted time and their acquired skills.
Here are some pic's of the program that Tremblant
visitors will recognize from their distinctive apparel.
