Summit Sector Traction Action!

Not hard to skate acceleration into your descent when
you've got this kind of surface quality to work with.

Beauvallon is as flat as a pancake from the Summit all the way
to the South Resort base. Absolute Top Notch job done by Mountain
Crews to prepare this course in less than 48 Hours after a major
warm weather hiccup!

As you can see above, there is a great Shred Depth for high speed,
high traction carving and Event Participants were taking full advantage
to crank off laps at rapid rates.

Below: Taken on Beauvallon, right below the TGV Quad Base.

About 15 minutes before Sunset, this course Official makes
a turn through very obvious fine carving snow.

Typically, all this immaculately prepared terrain gets opened to
the public within a short period after the event ends at Noon tomorrow.

If you have the chance to make it out for Sunday, and they do open it up,
you'll be able to Ski or Board on some of the smoothest, sweetest, swift
surfaces you've ever been on.

Start/Finish Centre Stage Rockin'!

There's gunna be a Rockin' Centre Stage happening this evening
as the after sundown Slope-Side party begins. All the while, Charity
Participants will be passing through as the hours tick away.

A few words on the North...

Fine with good edges. The daily improvements are there and
it Skis quite well, but if your gear's not up to snuff, you will
have more challenge than your friends with sharp edges.

Another night of Grooming, plus the balance of todays traffic
will raise the refinement level again, so as usual, you can
look forward to better and better.

The Whole Mountain Is FAST!!!

The Weather cleared off quickly and the sun shone through
scattered cloud right 'til sunset. When the wind took breaks
from it's somewhat gusty self, standing trailside to do photography
there were some moments when you could actually feel heat
coming through!

A very nice, crisp early winter day and not hard to stay warm if you're
moving at an athletic pace.

If time permits, we'll try to add more here later on, but
what you need to know is that Tremblant has pulled it off
again with a great course for the Charity Event and...
a great Surface recovery for everyone else out for
fresh air, sunshine, exercise and signature Tremblant views.

---------------- 6:59 A.M. Orig. Post ------------------

15(*) Open Trails with Public Access at Tremblant, Excluding Trails
Specifically dedicated to the 24 Hour Children's Charity Fundraiser.

The Official Tremblant.ca Snow Report states that there are
a total of 22(*) Open Trails Including the Fundraiser Course,
so 7(*) of the total are NOT AVAILABLE for Public access.

The Principle Course route is Beauvallon which has been Open
Summit to Base, since Nov. 22nd, Opening Day and other than
from the little warm burp Mother Nature decided to have 2 days
ago, it's been in great shape the whole time. Frequently, we might
add, it's had the fastest Snow on the Open list and we featured that
in our Video for Opening day(you can see that from our homepage).

Hey !!! It's Supposed to be Sunny !!!

Sun or not... it's definitely "Crisp" at -11 C, rising to a daytime
forecasted high of -6 C, with light West wind that will be
coming up the Mountain from the Taschereau Sector as it
heads across the Summit towards Lowell Thomas.

Tonight, participant's in the Charity Event can expect a nice Winter'y
-15 C to bundle up for, and ....

This is the ONE Night of the year we can legitimately say:

"Night Skiing At Tremblant",

perhaps even more precisely...

"All Night Skiing At Tremblant !!!"

Skiers And Boarders head out from the Summit under the very bright
Course lights for the Over-Night portion of the 24 Hour Marathon. Teams
work all year to raise pledges and last years total was OVER $2,000,000. !!!

For All Regular Tremblant Guests NOT attached to the Charity Event...

Look closely Below at the Archive copy of the Official Open Trail List.

There's loads of great Open Terrain including Top-To-Bottom examples
such as... South, on Nansen and North, on Beauchemin.

Mountain Crews will have been working all night long to refine the
surface conditions on ALL Open terrain.

We should see an increase in the soft, carve-able Top Layers in
BOTH Quality and Quantity from Yesterdays levels.

Conditions Caveat(s):

A) ...
Two days ago it was warm. Now, it's cold. That can mean icy bits.

Caution With Speed is required on initial explorations.
Verify Safe Passage BEFORE you go ripping around.

B) ....

This is one of the busiest weekends of the New Season and while
we do not expect much in the way of delays, be aware that Traffic
patterns may be restricted due to 24 Hour Course priorities and
Experts are going to have to share Open Terrain with Beginners
in some areas.

Allow extra room for manoeuvring and use extreme caution
around trail intersections, over blind crests, in narrow pathways
and in ALL AREAS around other Mountain Users of all skill levels.

---------------- End of Caveats --------------

With Full Summit To North and South Base's, we should be in
good shape for traffic management today, but there may be
some congestion around the South Base Resort due to
the Infrastructure to support the 24 Hour Children's Charity
Fundraiser.

Page under All Day construction, thanks for your patience!

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

GoTo: Archive, Search Reports by Date: Index: http://tinyurl.com/yktelmu

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)
