Summary: Another "Something For Everyone" Day...

...Something for everyone that's got warm layers, that is.
Cold, Fast, Cold, Fun. Basic Repeat for early tomorrow morning
but forecast to rise to a balmy -16 C after lunch.

See Tremblant Rule #5 Below.

PRELIMINARY Open Trail List for tomorrow posted below in "REPLY"

It was a beautiful, Snowy, Lowell Thomas kind of weekend...

Todays Tremblant Conditions are addressed to Three Groups.

1) Those Local/Regional Tremblant Fans that can get out
at their discretion for any day they have/can get off. You live within
a 5 Minute to 3.5 +/- Hour One Way Drive Time.(**)

2) The Weekend Warrior Regional Tremblant Fans that can plan
a Get-Away Weekend or Mid-Week Break with Booked in Advance
Days Off, Mini-Vacation, etc. You live within a 6 +/- Hour One Way
Drive Time or, a two hour Porter Flight Time.(**)

3) The Long Distance Tremblant Fan who plans and books a
Tremblant Vacation "X" months or a year in advance and is
coming from a +/- 12 Hour or more Drive Time or a +/- 18 Hour
total transit time via Planes, Trains, and and any other form of
Ground Transportation.

((**)For all our Brit. Friends who can't believe we think a 3 to 8
hour drive is "Short", it's true. Our Country is wider than the Ocean
that separates us.)

You're all going to have an excellent Alpine Ski/Board experience
when you get on the Mountain.

There is So Much Snow at Tremblant that is now integrated into the very solid
base that we would have what we might call "Established Seasonal Momentum".
Regardless of what little Hiccups, Thermal Burps, Mini-Mid-Winter Thaws,
or any other form of Weather glitches.....

There is So Much Snow At Tremblant, that within the typical
seasonal weather variations that can be experienced....

In Our Opinion....

Nothing Can Significantly Harm The Established Base
From This Point Forward.

Consequently, you all can take a deep breath and relax about
the certainty of Great Alpine Winter Snow Sports Days When-Ever
you can be here.

If you can imagine yourself on these beautifully Groomed surfaces
that go on and on and on... you can also imagine that these top layers
are as Smooth as Silk and Carve like Butter.

Just tossing the Skis onto the Corduroy you can see the excellent
grip that your turns will have as you Shred through the Uniform
Softness that is present in virtually every Groomed Surface at Tremblant.

It takes a day or two, or three, post Blizzard, to integrate all the new Snow
into the base. Ideal compaction is realized in multiple daily cycles of
Grooming pressure, Mountain User traffic, overnight Cryogenics(super-dry cold),
so today will see an increase in the square area that is refined after heavy snow.

Cold Weather Advisory:

Todays weather, while Sunny, is forecast to hold a steady -20C.
Moderate Westerly Winds, moving across the Summit from the
Taschereau Sector towards Lowell Thomas, will still have potentially
chilly effects, so careful attention to Exterior Garment Overlaps and Seals
will be critical for comfort. Wind Chill Alert.

Children should be monitored for any signs of Frostbite and/or
lost feeling in fingers/feet. We recommend No, Zero, Not Even
a Sliver... of exposed skin today thanks, Mum or Dad.

Today Conditions Factors:

Long Term Readers Here... know how much we love the performance
that only comes with Cold Snow. Cryogenically accumulated Snow
has unique Alpine Snow Sport Functional Properties, including, but not
limited to:

Very Low Resistance Frictional Factors.
Very High Speed Capability.
Very High Traction Levels
Very Easy Execution of Control Inputs, i.e., Braking, Steering,
Carving Edge Sensitivity.

For all these reasons, plus any others anyone can think of, we love
these conditions while they last.

Besides which... there's not a thing we can do to change the weather,
so why not learn how to appreciate and make the best of it.

Of course it takes extra care to dress for it,
but all you need to remember is....

Tremblant Winter Rule # 5 ...
Those that can adapt the quickest, have the most fun.

WARMING UP ... for the rest of the week, starting tomorrow.
By Thursday, a projected daytime high of -8C, and Friday could see
close to Zero C, 32 F.

"C'mon Mum...This way for fun!"

24 hours later and we're still digging out around the Chalet.
We won't get all the detail work done for another day or so either.

There's a lotta' Snow.

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

GoTo: Archive, Search Reports by Date: Index: http://tinyurl.com/yktelmu

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)
