And We're just talking about the Snowy Weather !

Typical of all weather like this, there may be Vision problems, however
with various Emergency Goggle Cleaning Techniques...

The Skiing/Boarding on so much snow could only be great for Experts,
and to various degrees challenging, for Intermediates and Beginners....

Time for more laps on personally chosen Terrain that is actually
appropriate for your Skill Level. Best way to think of that... keep it "Easy".

Always Initially Explore Cautiously, and Verify Safe Passage First.

We suspect it may be an all-nighter for Mountain Crews as they
endeavour to keep up with the steady incremental Snowfall.

Overnight low temp tonight at -18 C, might be -21, -22 C at the Summit,
and so far, it looks like 86(*) Open Trails for morning.

------------- 7:57 A.M. Orig. Post -----------------

87(*) Open Trails and Daytime high temp forecast of -6C at Tremblant.

Here is our One Pic. Snowy Summit Sample Forecast
for this morning at Tremblant....

For Some-Odd Reason, It seems like a "La Griffe" kind of day...

Groomed, a nice dusting of fresh snow and all ready to go...

------------- Conditions Caveat ------------

VISION ... may be an issue today as there's a freezing drizzle
component in the forecast. Not yet sure how that will play out,
but you need to be prepared to take extra time to clean icy
debris of lens surfaces prior to starting any descent.

Use all appropriate care and reduced speed to facilitate
safe passage in any sectors with reduced visibility
.

Take The Time To Maintain Vision...

It's a Safety Thing.

Other Condition Notes: Two weeks ago, the Open Trail Count was in the 30's
now it's in the 84-89 range, so we think the next two weeks at Tremblant will
see a large effort on the part of Mountain Crews to consolidate the rapid gains
into the base. If we're right, you'll continue to see lots of Snowmaking
and Grooming that will truly take the base coverage to "Wall-To-Wall"
standards of the fullness we expect to see in a very nicely maturing season.

This Is Great News For Both Near and Long Term Tremblant Trip Planners.

Every single day of substantial sub-zero temps helps put frost deeper
into the Mountain where it remains as a Cold Storage Reserve that
we count on to perpetuate fine Alpine Snow Sport Surfaces.

There are some seasons where we are not as lucky as we are now
and that shows later on in reduced accumulations that mean a thinner
base when the inevitable Sunshine of Spring gets closer.

Prefaced with the concept that Mother Nature's Weather patterns
do nothing other than stay average from now on, we'd have a great season
to look forward to. If Mother Nature stays Generous with continued
Above Average Winter patterns, then the upcoming Winter months
have every promise of being outstanding.

Repeat:

This Is Great News For Both Near and Long Term Tremblant Trip Planners.

Near Term Weather Notes:

We're going to experience a return to very "Winter-Like" temps
until next weekend if... it all turns out as forecast.

It may take some additional effort on Goggle Utilities,
but the bottom line is that today is a super easy White Winter day
with More Snow, Comfortable Temp's and Gorgeous Surfaces.

We're Shifting Holiday Gears From Christmas....

To "Happy New Year's" ....

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

GoTo: Archive, Search Reports by Date: Index: http://tinyurl.com/yktelmu

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)
