T360 Apres Mid-Night, Apres Ski Edit @ 12:25 A.M.

FOR JUST ABOUT 23 SECONDS…

When you come around the corner and see this…

You forget about how cold you are.

But then….. you get snapped back into reality...

.. and the reality is… Yes, it is cold out….

but the reality is also Phenomenally Fine Skiing.

Cold, you can dress for that, you can come in every second run if you have to.

Come in Every Run if you must, or Ski the South using only the Gondola.

You’ll brag about surviving it later, but you’ll never forget the Razor Sharp
Handling or the Quickness underfoot.

Today is the kind of day that actually, legitimately, warrants the use of...

“Awesome” !!!

Mother Nature delivers Outstanding Alpine Snow Surfaces
on a day that rewards the brave, and the well prepared.

ENVIRONMENT CANADA SEVERE COLD WEATHER WARNING
-33 C Overnight with Mainly Sunny and daytime rise in temps
to a balmy -18 C!

We would not be surprised to see Soleil Off-line to begin with due
to the Extreme cold, particularly if the Wind component becomes
a greater factor.

We heard a lift line/ chair lift rumour that the North Side may be utilizing
Expo and Lowell Thomas for Upload and Duncan may get the day off.

--------------- 9:09 A.M. Orig. Post --------------------

77(*) Open Trails on all 4 sides of a very frosty Tremblant with
Summit at somewhere around -35 C, -30 C at South Base. Anticipated
Daytime High Temp @ -21C, South Base.

What You Get, Is Not Necessarily What You Can See...

We heard quite a bit of “Feedback” about Snowmaking yesterday…
But Right Up Front, You Need To Know… The Skiing is Excellent.
Today should be a very close, but a tad cooler, copy.

Once you were up at the Summit, behind all the Snowmaking Cloud,
if you were headed for La Crete, or turning Left off the Gondola,
sometimes it was like this:

Visitors could be heard saying...

"Do you have any idea where you’re going?"
…………………………………………………………………….... "…Yeah, it’s over here somewhere.”

There was wind, but it was not always steady. The Cloud sort of Swirled
around, often in a very lazy fashion, periodically leaving views of variable clarity.

There were times when the wind definitely picked up and at these temp’s…
you knew about that right away…

Secondary Focus on the Snow. Windblown, for sure, but personally,
we did not encounter any icy bits at all. That is not to say there were
none, with some of the occasionally gusty force, it may have been possible.

Above: If you look at the Flag on the Summit Observation Platform, you can see
that at this moment, the wind is Nor-West. Looking at the Snow Blowing across
the screen right at our feet, it seems more West. These differences are part of
the “Swirling” we mentioned above.

Below: Tremblant Guests Today will benefit from...

Lots of the Snow from night-before-last, got Propelled over
the Summit to drift down on the North.

With less in the way of “Environmental Factors” to deal with, and car
parked there, we did spend a lot of our day on the North. With Views and
Trails like one of our fav Andy-Moe/Axle descent paths… who could argue that.

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

GoTo: Archive, Search Reports by Date: Index: http://tinyurl.com/yktelmu

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)
