We were not expecting any sort of special “Moment” yesterday…

but as is often the case, “Moments” happen unexpectedly.

Even though it was almost “Warm” by Last Run, having been
out and moving with a fair degree of “Air Speed” on the Fast
Super Smooth Groomed Surfaces, fingers and toes were
feeling cool and in order to put on a pair of Ski Boot Sole Protectors
we slipped into the warmth of the Johannsen Base Ski Rental Location
and there it was...

Tremblant Moment du Jour...

A Moment of realization that while so much is different, there is
so much the same.

While the “Today” pic and the "Yester-Year” pic show so much change,
the Spirit, the Essence of the Tremblant Experience is exactly the same…
…since 1939.

From the very first Moment JackRabbit Johannsen’s Saw Cut wood for a Trail,
right up to this second as we Ski in on the Trail that bears his name, the Spirit,
the Thrill and the Joy of Pure Winter Alpine Snow Sports, is exactly the same.

And that Dear Tremblant Fans, is your Moment du Jour.

While The Big Picture Views Are Much The Same….

We think JackRabbit Johannsen would be astounded by Modern Trail Quality.

Nansen… 6.2 Kilometres of Seamless Snow White Winter Perfection.

Tremblant’s Founder Joseph Bondurant Ryan, commissioned JackRabbit
Johannsen to build this Trail in 1938.

For much of 1938, JackRabbit Johannsen had his saw very busy on this
exact spot, however the level of finishing was very basic compared to
the wide, seamless boulevard we see here now. “Trails” in 1938, Tremblant’s
big construction year, were so elementary we would only recognize them
as cleared tracks through the bush for the most part.

While the Spirit’s the same, today’s Snowmaking, Grooming and
Lift Systems have elevated the Sport to levels the Founders
could never imagined.

Tremblant Guests Benefit From That Today…
and every other single day this season.

Trails that in the early years from 1939 might have take ALL SEASON
to get enough Natural Snow for any kind of Smoothness…

...are now completed in less than a week to a Standard of Excellence
Unimaginable in 1939.

If you’re at Tremblant, Nearly or Now… you get Both…

A) The Simple Brilliance of Outstanding Trail Design.

B) The Exceptional Quality of Snow Surface Preparation.

75 Years Of Refinement Brings You To Tremblant Today.

Weather Notes:

Continued Clear and Cold with daytime high at -18 C.

Moderate Nor-West winds moving across the Summit from Nansen towards
Duncan will require careful attention to Garment Seals and Overlaps
to keep cold from working inside, but there will also be Lee-side sheltered
spots where Solar energy can be felt as warmth below the Summit.

Forecast for similar tomorrow, then Saturday with temp rise
to -7 C and SNOW!

Conditions are Great … Get Going Regional Tremblant Fans!

Please forgive our enthusiasm...

...but when conditions are this good it’s not hard to get carried away
with such wonderful Skiing.

Everything that’s open is Very Very Fine and the combination
of being surrounded by such a spectacular setting while participating
at the very highest levels of personal athletic performance is what keeps
all Genuine Tremblant Fans in love with this remarkably beautiful place.

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

GoTo: Archive, Search Reports by Date: Index: http://tinyurl.com/yktelmu

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)
