We Can Tell You For A fact That There Are
Untracked, Open, Sous Bois Drift-In Zones At
Tremblant With Over 1 Metre Of Free Depths
Of Powder Snow.

1.26.23 - T360 Proof Of Snow.

(For scale above: Skis: Atomic FIS SL, 158 cm’s. Poles: Kerma Corrective Angle, 122 cm’s.)

Within all respective skill level ratings we would
call it quite technical due to the requirements for
the disciplined maintenance of balanced posture
through rapidly variable surface tracking characteristics.

So much snow in such a short time can generate
challenge in every skill level, even Nansen Haut/Upper
had thickness and some washboard effects.

We think it’s very important to acknowledge that
any additional challenge due to extraordinarily
intense snowfall is a temporary issue and we fully
expect that this beautifully snowy, but somewhat
functionally difficult scene for absolute Beginners,
above from yesterday will be completely different today.

Ultimately, all this excellent new snow will become
an integrated strata within the groomed base that
is still growing towards the apex of seasonal maturity.
The exciting part is that there’s still lots more to come.

Conditions Notes:

There is no doubt that conditions favour Experts
and anyone else with experience in fresh deeper
amounts of loose, tracked snow.

There should be noticeably better compaction in
the freshly groomed main boulevards, however
there is so much new snow that there may be
lingering zones of softness for another day or
two, so it will be wise to stay within rated challenge
levels that are comparable to your legitimate skills.

If you’re finding it too difficult, then dial it back
in slope level immediately. The soft tracking is
not as forgiving with the amount of uncompressed
loft as ski tips may submerge instead of float with
excess velocity when encountering bumps.

Speed through soft bumps takes significant muscle,
and responds best to a very compact form that has
forward leaning balance in order to compensate for
variable and instant changes in pathway resistance.

For genuine, legitimate, “Go Anywhere, Do Anything” Experts...

Whooo Hoooo !!!

If you wanted a big dump... You’ve Got Your Wish!

Otherwise and generally, it could be a bit of busy as
it is a Friday, commonly part of a “3 Day, Long Weekend”.
This is the retired group, or the group that can plan
ahead on a regular basis for extra escape-to-ski time
and is predominantly from close at hand Regional/Local
areas.

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.
