Skiing and Boarding are at “Best Of Season” Levels, so...

If You Can...

You Should Race Over to Tremblant...

Virtually everything we’ve written about the performance we expected,
has been confirmed by the experience itself. Great Traction, Low Friction,
"Fast Grip” and increasingly Smooth, Refined, Snow Surfaces.

There was Atmospheric Suspended Snowmaking “Weather” that was being swirled
around the Summit primarily, however the resultant cloud-like formations did obscure
vision to variable degrees down the slopes as they were propelled by wind far beyond
the range of the Snow Guns direct aim.

Once below the Summit, for the most part, things cleared up.

This will probably be the last super-cool overnight low temp for a while
as after tomorrow, temps climb and stay up for the middle portion of the week.

The Skiing and Boarding will continue on at “Best Of” Seasonal Quality Levels.

Quite Possibly, A High Probability Of, Almost Certainly, Chances Are,
All Indicators Are Favourable For, Might Just Be... Clinically Speaking...

On The Open Groomed Terrain, For All Rated Skill Levels...

Today May Be The Best Day Of The Season So Far...

A Bit Phuzzy On The Phocus..., but read through and you’ll understand...

Standing in the middle of the Mid-Lowell Thomas to Duncan Cat Track
affords some of the most Iconic Tremblant Scenery Known. It is not a
Super Panoramic, but it is almost the Centre of what we refer to frequently
as some of the “Canaries In The Coal Mine”, Prime Indicators Of Significant
Tremblant Sector Condition Status. As we were framing up the Pic., the
Racer-in-Training Skied past and Completely Spontaneously, gave us this
Wide-Smile, Thumbs-Up pictured above. We do not know the person, it was not
set up, they will probably never know this wonderful, inspired pic. of joy in the
moment exists. But... maybe that’s the point, everyone at Tremblant right now
senses the tremendous generosity of Mother Nature and when given the
opportunity to share that by any means possible, they feel compelled to show
their enthusiasm, without any hesitation.

“Below" is the actual Pic. we were framing up when “Above”, spontaneously happened.

Conditions Notes:

Absolutely fabulous Groomed Open Terrain for All Skill Levels.

With The Rest Of Their Friends...

Every single day of 24hr Sub-Zero's following a major natural snowfall event,
represents an Overnight Grooming Cycle of Refinement. The Benefit of these
Refinements are Cumulative, so surfaces literally become better and better
as the compaction/smoothness in the new snow surfaces achieve wide-spread
consistency over the total square area of the Groomed Base. That Level of Ideal
Optimization, to say a 90% attainment, happens on day 3 or 4, Post-Snow Storm.
That means Today could be very special within the reference of Seasonally Maturing
Conditions. That means Today could be the Best Day of the Season, So-Far.

It also means that until there’s any pop into “Plus”, above Zero Temp’s, the
incremental increase in surface quality will continue to escalate, daily.

Kkkool Today... For sure, at least to begin with, but Ski/Board conditions that
are not only at “Best Of” levels, but as well, we’re also predicting will see quite
light traffic as the last of the Holiday Period Guests hit the Roads and Airports
on their way back to “Theirtown”. Tomorrow’s a School Day, and there’s a lot to
do to get organized, so it’s a very common thing to see attendance numbers
reduce during the course of any final Holiday time period as Families re-set
and travel back to daily Urban Routines.

Glitches?

Yes, as fine as it is, even with “Best Of” Possibilities... there can be Glitches
out there. Most of them right now are in the form of Icy substrates that were
exposed during the “Wind Tunnel” effect of the high velocities experienced
back on Wed. past. The overnight Grooming cycles will have vastly reduced
those areas by now, but there may still be the odd slick or icy bit on crests
or steeper pitches if they get sufficient traffic that moves top layers off.
When Mother Nature has such powerful elements within her behaviours,
we need to be realistic about the potential of lingering effects.

Regardless, and as usual, they will be very, very small compared to the overwhelming
Excellence of the vast square area of immaculately Groomed Terrain.

In the Hors Piste, Sous Bois, Glade Zones, there’s no doubt recent heavy snow
accumulations particularly on Nord, North and Edge sectors are far more forgiving
than even a week ago. There are Powder Snow Drift Lines in these areas that can
exceed the Statistical Snowfall Totals over 100 “+”cm’s. They may be short and sweet
or long and luxurious, but they are out there like fingerprints shaped by the immense
weather forces over the Mountains unique topographical contours.

Hors Piste Glitches are a la Carte. The abundant Snowfall has created very heavy
Snow Load in the Treetops so we have seen examples of different types of glitches
than normal, such as tree branches from broken trees fallen, that can be found running
horizontally under the snow surfaces that are not at all visible. Most are small
enough that your momentum instantly snaps them, but every once-in-a-while...
a bigger one is lurking under there and we consequently recommend that you
give any obvious signs of fallen Tree debris, large or small... a wide passing margin.

Park Notes:

Have Fun!(safely, of course!)

Weather Notes:

Overnight Low of -30C, but very quickly rising to -19C by 10:00A.M.
Light winds from the North for the morning coming up the Mountain
over Nansen, then swinging around to the Nor-West, over Beauvallon
and increasing in Speed to Moderate, with Strong Gusty peaks.

At least it’s not so fast when it’s the Early Morning Cool.

No doubt though, it is a “Bundle Up” KKkkoool Temp’s Advisory.

The Forecasters think it should be Partially Sunny, and mixed in with
the cloudy bit’s, lightly snowy, and indeed, first thing here in the Old Village
of Mt.T., it is Grey Overcast with a dusting of Snow on everything and
a very fine, periodic, gently falling snow.

Feeling a bit chilly?
