DUE TO COVID-19 HUMAN HEALTH ISSUES:

Please Note:
Local, Regional, National, Global COVID-19 Closure Protocols.

April 13, Facsimile Sampling Data/Stat's

See all attached below.

Reporting Caveat:
Our intention is to add primarily to the weather stat’s as well as historic
conditions averages so future trip planning researchers looking at time
slots normally open/available will have archival 2020 data sampling continuity
to assist with composite impressions for weeks that would usually be prime
Spring skiing Holiday or visit candidates.

The Mountain Is Closed For The Season.

In a sincere attempt to remain cheerful and positive when the
Ski Season has been COVID-19 Globally Closed, through the process of
“Visualization”, we want to present the following:

As a Facsimile of your April 13, here are some random
“Best Of” Pic. Files for this date from our Archives:

Above/Below: Lucky 13. While 6 years span these two pic’s, April
13 at Tremblant still usually has tons of snowpack reserve(above), and
with very light end-of-season traffic, great all-day conditions(below).
It’s not really luck, and the 6 years could be any other number
because it’s the physical advantage of “North”, as in Latitude.
We are very lucky to be far enough North to have frequent
mid-April snowfall and consistent Sub-Zero temp cycles, generally
overnight, that effectively reset/stabilize snow trail surfaces.

Of course... By April 13, there are substantial probabilities
that any very sunny days are also going to have a corresponding
level of Spring heat, sufficient to make the directly sun-exposed
trails soft. The advantage of the typical overnight sub-zeros, is
that much of the seasonally permanent ground frost is retained
well past this date, so the heat is not as likely to penetrate too
deeply as the frost acts as a barrier.

Below:

This is a prime example of how Versant Nord, the North Side’s shaded
zones can provide exceptional conditions when there may be soft-heat
on Versant Sud, the South Side. The trail shown below(MCA #64, Bas,
Lower), can actually have choice across its width for the softness or
firmness that the skier finds desirable. The tree shadows here can literally
keep the shaded portion firmer while the sun can make the exposed portion
soft. The useful skill is the ability to do sequential short-radius parallel
turns to swivel a descent line in the sweet spot you find easiest to work with.
Please note that there is not a single rock or bare spot visible. It is
common to still find wall-to-wall coverage on open trails at April 13.

Weather Notes:

All we can say is that if it was going to be a rainy April 13 today,
we’re not feeling so sad about it being Covid-Closed...

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)
