Here’s a sample of the detail anyway...

Nansen has been a star in the crown since opening day.
Same today, about 99.9% certain for same tomorrow,
and, it’s just one sample of many the same...

Tomorrow:

Snowfall staring at midnight, continuing all night into all day.
Temps rising from -8C tonight, rising to -1C by afternoon.
Excellent potential!

The Fundamental Quality:

Early Season Excellence.

It is a bit more complicated than usual to make
comparisons to previous years at Dec. 8, in 2020,
due to the fact that with Covid-19, for the first time
in 20 some-odd years, there was no physical 24hr.
Children’s Charity Fundraiser. Ever since that event
started, Mountain Crews made huge compensating
terrain development efforts, primarily on Versant
Nord/North, in order to have substitute trails when
a lot of the available Versant Sud/South terrain was
allocated for the event and not open to the public.

That alone makes this year different in many ways.
We have still seen a remarkable “Weather Permitting”
effort by Mountain Op’s and we can’t forget that in some
80 years, this is only the 5th time in history the Mountain
has Opened with Summit-To-Base on both Sud/South and
Nord/North Sectors.

Below:
These trails end up down by the distant lake and for
muscles that have been “Off-Duty” for months, it’s
a real wakeup call(in every good way), on top of loads of fun!

Weather Notes:

Another day of forecast sunny and actually grey overcast.
To be fair, over the Mountain itself, some of the cloud cover
has been self-induced fog from the huge snowmaking output.
There’s no doubt about that riding up lifts as you get the full
perspective of snowmaking over an ascending view.

Conditions Notes:

The overwhelming assessment is very positive regarding both
scope and quality for this date in seasonal time. This is Dec. 8,
not Feb. 8, so there is not yet the depth of natural accumulations
in the base. That means there can be some little hazards that
crop up here and there, but that is to be somewhat expected at
this stage. Consequently, it is up to the individual to be cautious
with exploration and speed as well as observant, most glitches
can be avoided by simply being careful.

The overall performance has been very fine on a daily basis. Everything
is groomed and notwithstanding temperatures that have oscillated above
and below the Zero C mark, Mountain Crews have kept very adequate loose
top layers for carving edge set and in our experience, there is a lot less
icy than might be expected when the temps float over and under Zero C.

The arrival of small increments of fresh snowfall have been very welcome
additions and have contributed substantially to the integration of blown
snow for a smooth, natural, trail surface feeling underfoot. Very fortunately
it has been consistently fast, very low friction, so speed and glide are both
at comparably high levels.

Covid-19 has kept the attendance relatively low for 3 main reasons. Firstly,
Lift Tickets and access are restricted to advance reservation and Seasons Pass
holders only, due to Social Distancing crowd density specifications that limit the
occupancy rate. Secondly, we know for a fact that some folks are just doing
a self-regulated “Stay At Home” order, some in compliance with living in a
“Red Zone”, where no one is supposed to travel out of, some are just being
proactively cautious as they are concerned with community spread, or they
have regular contact with family and do not want to risk bringing the virus home.
Thirdly, Cross-Border International Travel Restrictions mean that no matter
where you are in the world, it is either very difficult, or impossible to travel
for non-essential recreational tourism. This would be the very first, and hopefully
the very last time our borders are practically closed to International guests.

It is a Global pandemic, and Covid-19 needs the very highest levels of respect
for the ultimate harm it can cause to individuals, and within the community, so
we respect all these factors as both cause and effect for reduced attendance.

Bringing all these considerations back around full circle, the ski conditions at
Tremblant are very fine to excellent due to the fullness of developed open
terrain, the very high levels of daily grooming and maintenance as well as
comparatively low traffic volume.

For those that can’t be here because of cross-border travel restrictions
we’d like to thank you for your visit to T360. The best thing we can
suggest is to use the web-browser function on a big-screen smart T.V.
for the best widow we can give you. We would like to welcome simultaneous
viewers this morning from IP codes in Seattle Washington, St.Louis Missouri,
Pacific Palisades, California, London England, NYC, New York, Glendale, Arizona,
and all others who can’t be here, but will come to the site today. We truly appreciate
your visit. All we can say is that this will pass, and as unusual as the present moment
is, “Normal” will return at the very safest and soonest time possible.

If you are fortunate enough to be here, you certainly have to be very
grateful and appreciative for the extraordinary privilege. In the context
of a world of Covid hurt and restriction, the freedom of being out on the
slopes is truly liberating.

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)
