Great News About Bad Weather.
So snowy you can barely see...

Thank Goodness It’s A Ski Resort...
Any Kid of any age who has ever made a snowball and been
in a good ‘ole fashioned snowball fight is going to understand
immediately that the new snow is “Ballistic Grade” very high
density, extremely humid, near-damp, construction quality
heavy, thick, snow.
Our expectation is that this single snowfall event will be a
seasonal game changer for at least two reasons:
1) Heavy duty, super packable, significant base layer addition.
2) With forecasted dropping temps predicted to follow, every
single snowflake will be retained for a seasonably permanent
contribution to coverage and durability.
This new snowfall will initially favour Expert Skill Levels
as it may be prone to thicker surface tracking of irregular
depths and friction rates that will want experienced
sensitivity to swift, momentary, and unpredictable variations
in descending glide or resistance rates through building
accumulations and/or evolving mogul formations.
It is imperative that Beginners and Intermediates default down
one level in challenge until safe descent conditions are confirmed
over all initial explorations.

Weather Notes:
There is a substantial probability that the total amount
of new snow over Mountain Elevations could be significantly
over the forecast that is for Versant Sud/South Side Resort
ground levels because the Mountain is typically its own
“Weather Maker” with this meteorological profile.
This is a prime candidate for “Orographic Precipitation”.
That’s when relatively warm, moist air gets forced up the ramp-like
shape of the Mountain, where above the Summit, it contacts
inherently cooler atmospheric strata causing increased rates of
condensation which fall as more snow than the ground levels get.
We could be wrong, but we don’t think so with such a
vigorously active storm system and temp’s so close to,
but just below Zero C over Mountain Elevations.

Conditions Notes:
As Per All Contained Herein This Post.
Conditions will favour Expert Skill Levels in rapidly accumulating
thick, heavy snowfall.
Beginners and Intermediates are urged to default down
one challenge level until safe descent passage is confirmed.
Speed and Braking control need to be maintained at all
times as there is run-away potential due to resistance that
may occur with accumulated surface thickness that can
make control moves difficult to execute.
Patience is required. Extra surface thickness can
take substantially higher muscle effort to navigate.
Fatigue thresholds need to be respected and anticipated
because loss of control can result in accidents.
Any Snowstorm is great news at a Ski Resort, however
in the moment, challenge levels are inherently greater
for everyone.

Very rapid and heavy accumulations of natural snowfall
evident over the entire Mountain footprint.

------------------------------------------------------
Of Course...
It goes without saying, but we need to say anyway, any single, large accumulation
of new snowfall should generate newly opening terrain overnight and potentially
over the next couple of days as Mountain Crews have a chance to asses, process
and integrate new snow into the groomed array, as well as certify additional
Sous Bois, Glade, Hors Piste, and all other Un-Groomed terrain to be opened.

If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.
When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.
There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.
(

First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)
