Bonjour Tremblant!

Another Cool One, But For Good Reasons.

Weather Notes:

It looks like this current pattern will continue on for at least
another 3 or 4 days until the currently dominant blob of cold
Polar Vortex recedes to the north. There are possibilities the
models could be out either way so it’s fair to say “More or Less”
with any expectations we may have for the 5 to 7 day range.

In the mean-time, the outlook for additional natural snowfall
is shaping up to be quite positive and we think there are some
good potentials due to the record low ice pack over the Great
Lakes Basin that could help contribute moisture to any developing
Colorado or Texas Low systems that are likely to occur.

Conditions Notes:

Fantastic Mid-Winter, Mature, Groomed Conditions.

It’s that magic time of the season when the trail conditions
really begin to reflect the combination of many, many consecutive
sub-zero days combined with many, many overnight super-cool,
grooming cycles over super-dry natural snow.

In the Sous Bois, Glades, Hors Piste, and Un-Groomed categories,
it’s still an a la Carte scenario. Clinically speaking, we have about
100 cm’s less snowpack now than a year ago on this date, so
obviously there is a thinner cushion over irregular contours and
other natural objects commonly found in a forest floor. For this
reason explorations should still be undertaken with care. On the
positive side, if you could call it that, because the pandemic traffic
is low, there is less outright wear. Another positive aspect is the
potential for lots more natural winter snowfall. There’s still a long
way to go in the season and being naturally optimistic, we are looking
to Mother Nature to do some catching up.

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)
