T360 Prime Time Apres Ski Mini Edition Under Construct @ 9:13 P.M.

There was a bit of this, there was a bit of that...

But... Warm and/or soft, cool and/or firm,

It Was All Fast.

In our estimations, by the end of the day, the Sud/South was mostly “Spring”,
and Nord/North was somewhere around 60 % “Spring” with about 40 % still
showing some winter-like snow surfaces that were reasonably dry and crisp.

Regardless, it was all fast.

In your review of the Duncan Summit Pitch POV below, the important
distinction you need to perceive is the difference between the airborne
trail of snow around and behind the Skier is “Dusty” as opposed to “Shredded”.

When snow gets hot, it shreds, when snow is still cool, it sprays individual snow
crystals in what appears to be a fine, cloudy, dust-like airborne trail. You see the
latter, “Dusty” look below, and skiing it surely felt winter-like as well. Firm surfaces
with great lateral edge-set grip, the Duncan Summit pitch was Expert easy.
This pic. below is taken at approximately 3:45 P.M, technically “Last Run”, so
fair to say these conditions were “All Day”.

All the Greens and Blues were similarly smooth and fast.

There are very few glitches and there is very much fun.
It is excellent exercise, and you can make the aerobic output
as demanding as your muscle will take on Expo, or as relaxed and
fluid as you find soothing on Nansen.

Another great day with primarily firm, fast, and easy groomed surfaces
across all Open Skill Level terrain.

More in the morning...

If This Was The Only Thing You Knew

About Tremblant Right Now, It Would Be Enough...

Starts Out Light, Dry, Fast, All Winter Snow...

Despite the implications of rapidly warming daytime temps, Winter
snow held on all day long yesterday by an easy margin. We think that
should repeat everywhere today ’til noon, and longer on Nord/North.

But There’s So Much More...

Virtually the entire array of groomed open trail surfaces are quite
near flawless. With all the seasonal weather factors considered,
it is most remarkable that this degree of optimization has been
so sustainable, but there it is, and the privilege of reporting it
is an extraordinary gift facilitated by Mother Nature that is not lost or
taken for granted by us for one second. Tremblant Mountain Crews
have clearly demonstrated the highest levels of professionalism
and artistry in sculpting the snow reserves into this peak of seasonal
attainment and we are so thankful they have been supported by
the temps necessary to keep it all in place right up to this current
moment.

You Don’T Need To Be A “Rocket Scientist” To Know Tremblant
Conditions Are Great Right Now...

But it sure helps to know they’ve figured it out anyway...

Canadian Aerospace Engineers/Scientists have played major roles
in the NASA Space Program for decades. Evidently, one of them was
home yesterday...???

Weather Notes:

During Open Hours... Fine, Great, Excellent Early “Spring"!

Tonight:
At typically -4C cooler Mountain Elevations, things could be better
than this hourly Sud/South Resort Level forecast model indicates
for the immediate overnight portion. Precip. could be all snow in
a best case scenario.

For the long range...

We are within a handful of days of the Official start of Spring, and
it looks like Mother Nature has the new season coming in for a
splash like a fire hose at a wet T-shirt contest. This 14 day model
now includes the last day in March and it certainly shows a significant
upward and sustained change in the level of thermal influence.

If... you can get here for the fullness of this seasons winter coverages
the way they are right this second, you best not hesitate because it is
definitely a limited time Mother Nature offer.

Our forecast for today is that this great winter snow we had all day yesterday
should generally continue on until about noon, however it may prove to be
more durable on the naturally shaded portions of Versant Nord/North.

The Sous Bois/Glades/Hors Piste Report:

Here is the basis for what you will find for today:

The general summary might be that while we thought yesterday would
perhaps be a “Tipping Point” in the transition to the spring in surfaces,
we got away with just enough aggregate coolness to stay winter all day.

With today’s projected high temp of +6C under a very bright sunny sky
during Open Hours, that “winter” feel is unlikely to extend much beyond
mid-day and therefore we may look back at today as being a seasonal
marker for this basic shift in base characteristics... Don’t forget your sunscreen...

If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)
