We hope you’ve figured it out by now...

Duncan Is Only One Example Of Several Extraordinarily Fine
Descents At Tremblant Right Now.

Despite some really warm, wet, whacky weather gyrations that have reduced the available
terrain recently, Tremblant Mountain Op’s delivers some truly spectacular conditions
on what is open. They have the resources, skills and abilities to pull “optimized" out of
less than ideal weather. It was both a thrill and a privilege to have such outstanding quality,
especially when many regional areas are struggling to remain open.

While there are some wild cards in the remaining days, we are carefully monitoring
the evolving weather, just about by the hour, and we think there are adequate support
factors for positive ski days to follow, starting with what you see above. More in the morning...

The Big “if...”

For Ski Resorts, The Weather Is Always The News...

Mother Nature has quickly evolved her immediate weather influences and
the metrics of the cold weather system moving in today are considerably
different than was suggested by the models of just 24 hours ago. What we
have is the “Cool”, but with less of the forecast snowfall.

You can review all of the yesterday weather forecast data by using
the “Previous Topic” buttons, either top/bottom of this page, to go back
and see all the promise the forecast suggested, but here below is what it
has all evolved to this morning on the left side of this graphic.

Weather Notes:

If you look at the graphic on the right side above, it shows a forecast
temperature pattern over Eastern North American that includes “Cool”
over Quebec. That seems to be a direct conflict with the long-range
local models below. What you see below in the 14 day long range
forecast would only be considered cool in Fort Lauderdale, certainly
not at Tremblant in the beginning of April.

We are not sure which way it will end up going.... the data seems “iffy”...
but of course, what we want for the integrity of trail base quality is
definitely the models lean towards the cool side to keep everything
“firmly” in place.

Every second of “Cool” counts, especially after all the recent warmth.
Any sub-zero c temperature reset helps preserve and perpetuate
groomed trail base quality and durability.

With such a rapid drop in temps from “+” to “-“, there will be icy bits
and very firm surfaces, so you will need good ski/board edges, but
one thing is for sure, it will be “Rocket-Fast”, so fun will absolutely be
a big component. What you need to be able to do is harness all the
energy associated with velocity, with an equal measure safe turning
capability, and that is a direct extension of edge control.

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)
