52(*) Open Trails on all 4 Sectors at #Tremblant .

------------- End Of Day Archival Opened Trail Update --------------------

REVISED Open Trails to 57(*).

Please Note: This update occurred during open
hours at a time unknown to us, so this addition
is for the accuracy of the daily record.

Archival Data Attached Below.

In the “Good ‘Ole Days”, i.e., before Covid-19 and all the totally
legitimate Life and Death health issues associated with that virus
and the consequent “Lockdowns”, “Stay at home” orders, “Closed
International Borders” ... all inhibiting travel, we would be saying...

If It’s At All Possible...

You Should Be Racing Over To Tremblant!

We have ALWAYS been inspired, and influenced in
our own skills development by race technique. There
are elements of race technique that are directly transferable
to every recreational Skier on the planet. Period.

Please note the “Snowplow”/“Pizza Slice” position of the skier closest
above. From the first day you put skis on, to the day you win an
Olympic Gold Medal for Ski Racing, you will do this move, sometimes
while underway, sometimes in a race underway. It is an essential and
unique Skiing muscle move that is integral to every day you will ever have
on the slopes.

As an extension of the concept of "We have ALWAYS been inspired,
and influenced in our own skills development by race technique.
There are elements of race technique that are directly transferable
to every recreational Skier on the planet. Period.”, we offer the 3 following
pics as evidence, where a low, compact, well centred and forward hand
and body position over the skis facilitates both balance and complete
edge engagement throughout the fullness of the turning cycle.

Since the early inception of the current “Shaped” skis, we have supported
this consistently with a demonstrate-able, long-term commitment to Race
oriented technique basics being transferable to high performance recreational
skiing, so here is an excerpt from what we perceive as its application from
10 Years Ago:

If you look at the pages of this record 1 or 2 or more days ago, you will see these
elements, if you look 1 or 2 or more weeks, months, years, or a decade ago, you
will see these elements, simply, because they work.

In the current lingo of the Ski World, this would be the broad category of
“Front Side Carving”, where the shape of the skis are deflected by turning forces
into an arch, and where that arch is scribed by the skis as tracks in the groomed
snow that are linked continuously in alternating left/right sequence along the path
of descent.

It’s Quite Near Addictively FUN!!!

Tremblant just happens to be one of the very best places in Eastern North America
for developing this “Carving” technique because the rolling topography flows inherently
in a very favourable progression, which is augmented by some of the most professionally
excellent grooming standards that are refreshed and refined over multiple hundreds of
acers every single open day.

If you want to raise your game, set your own bar of performance
higher, learn, develop, improve your set of Front Side Carving skills,
Tremblant is exactly the place you want to get to. If you really apply
yourself in a serious way, either in dedicated practice on your own, or with
lessons/instruction, a Ski Holiday at Tremblant can get you a permanent
upward reset in skills, efficiently, quickly, and with a high degree of
natural fun that can only come with refined terrain that literally
enables your rapid personal progress every single day you are here for.

Below:
This is a repeat from yesterday because it is directly
applicable to today and the days moving forward.
By comparing the 14 day weather forecast models
above/below, you will see that within 24 hrs. there
are already changes in the precipitation components,
but the temp profiles remain much the same.

Conditions Notes:

Generally, what is open has been fully optimized dimensionally
from Summit-to-Base, and Wall-to-Wall by Tremblant Mountain Op’s
and they have done a fabulous job of it. The top 5 pic’s in this record
tell you virtually everything you need to know. We are most thankful,
and very, very appreciative. All recent weather factors considered,
it is a privilege to have so much very fine open terrain.

Otherwise...

One look at the hourly temperatures for todays weather
should tell you exactly how conditions will progress.

The variables will be in the rates of softening over the 4 corners
of the Tremblant Alpine Snow Sports Trail Network, in relation
to time, compass-point orientation, direct solar exposure, shade
and the ability of the retained frost from both the last 48 hour
reset and the ambient seasonal frost remainder, to act as either
a barrier or a delay function to any heat/thaw influence.

In practical terms, the Sud/South and Soleil Sectors may hold
firmness until between 10:30 to 11:30 A.M, and that may be
extended on the Nord/North Sectors until just after lunch.

At some point around 1:30 to 2:00 P.M., the softness from warm
air alone may become noticeable everywhere. The best we can hope
for is the low friction and retained speed into the late stages of the day.

Sharp edges will be critical in the morning, and depending on ultimate
softness, not really important at all if the heat gets dialled up beyond forecast.

There are natural hazard zones that are evolving as thaw occurs. The Ski Patrol
are hand posting/marking where they see risk, so pay close attention to signs
and stake-poles as you approach from above and slow down in order to be able
to implement immediate speed or directional control on a line-of-sight basis
for safe hazard avoidance.

Please Note: Special Easter Weekend Open Lift Hours To 17:00Hrs/5:00 P.M.

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)
