If You Have Any Questions About Where
You’d Like To Be Today, Here Are A Couple Of

It has been brilliantly sunny like this since April 1, and the way the
forecast looks, with only some very limited exceptions, we could
see this pattern extended right through to closing weekend... Wow...

A very, very unusual string of sequential sunny days in a time period
that would normally have a lot more precipitation.

Weather Notes:

Wow... A Hot ’N Sunny April???

A review of previous April’s in this record will show that there
are many very winter-like snowfall events here at Tremblant
in this time period, when southerly latitudes within the region
are already experiencing the rainy cycles commonly associated
with “April Showers”.

Evidently, none of that to speak of this year if these 14 day
long range models continue to show the predominantly dry
and sunny pattern that’s been the indicated trend so far.

Up until today, the part we’ve been most thankful for was
the steady potential to closing weekend of cooler overnight
sub-zero C’s at Mountain Elevations. However... effective this
morning, even those overnight low forecasts are trending
significantly upward into the “+” ranges just around the middle
of next week, so things may become less predictable.

Conditions Notes:

The “Sweet Zone” for today should be right from open to around 2:30 P.M.
or so, as the sun builds radiation energy to peak levels. Experience shows
the best afternoon to late day conditions will probably be on the Nord/North
sectors, but if trail surfaces can carry the early morning speed through to the
afternoon the way they have for the past 4 days, everything open can be wonderful.
There have been some minor exceptions where topographical contour depressions
can form pooling zones. If those occur, they are typically really easy to spot by the
dark grey-blue appearance they have, and just as typically, they are relatively small
and super-easy to navigate around.

The Ski Patrol are hand-posting signage and stake-poles to mark many
of the hazard spots, but there are evolving exposures even within any
given day at these heat levels, so you need to approach all descent lines
with line-of-sight speed and directional control, especially around crests
over to the pitches below that are not visible from above.

The main descent boulevards continue to show impressive resilience in
the wall-to-wall coverage, so it’s just one of those times where the choices
are obviously fewer in the fringe trails due to the weather, but in terms of
great quality skiing vertical, lapping on the still very high quality of the main
open descents is every bit as good exercise as any other day.

The long Easter Weekend traffic was not too bad yesterday and we were able
to find Ski-on singles lines all afternoon. We were told the morning Up-load
was busy with long wait times, but traffic certainly seemed to be evened out
by noon hour. Not exactly sure about today yet, but we expect similar.

There are superb Race training conditions at Tremblant right now and when
these zones become public access again, we all benefit from this very high
level of continuous maintenance.

they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
