Everything we anticipated about McCulloch in our original post below,
was exactly the reality. Read below for the detail. We’ll have more in
the morning on McCulloch conditions.

Our second Apres Ski feature is Nansen.

Soft spring snow can take more effort than dry, cold winter snow
due to the extra resistance generated by heaviness of internally
retained saturation in the top trail surface levels. Nansen was a very
safe place to learn how to handle that today. For Beginners, it never
got really thick on Nansen, and it had just about the right pitch to offset
the slight drag. The resulting combination was just enough/adequate
natural speed in the surfaces to build a bit of helpful momentum.
More on that in the morning too.

We’re hoping the overnight will allow some coolness back in, but
with everything so close to Zero, we won’t know the full picture
until the morning, so get a good rest because regardless of speed
characteristics, soft spring snow is an authentic workout.

Some examples of trails regularly prepared for Race Course use are Alpine, Nansen Pitch,
Rigodon, Beauchemin Haut/Upper, La Traverse, Kandahar, McCulloch, Taschereau,
Jasey-Jay Anderson, Erik Guay, Superieur, and Devils River. This list is not exclusive,
there may be others, but the point is that they are all identified on the Official Open Trail
PDF copy we archive, so you can see where they have been over recent history and target
them for your own enjoyment or training when you can make it out to them yourself.

We like to promote the benefits of lapping on these former Race trails for personal development
as the advances you can make in your own technique are enhanced by repetitive descents on
some of the highest quality fall-lines the Mountain has to offer.

Additionally, and a big reason for highlighting them now, the consistent reliability of the quality
of these trails can be a very important asset when the spring weather is gradually reducing the
overall available open terrain.

Weather Notes:

Quintessential, Gorgeous, Wonderful, Beautiful, And Very Photogenic “Spring”!

Otherwise, it’s always a bittersweet moment when you realize
the long range forecast includes the last days of the seasons
closing countdown... at least all the wet bits that were in this
time-frame are now showing as “Gone”. Of course that could
change, but hopes for a late season blizzard are quickly fading.

Conditions Notes:

Typical firm morning, soft afternoon.

Rotating excellence as the sun builds thermal energy
so as usual, move Nord/North in late day for retained
cool in surfaces, or, go anywhere steeper in the afternoon
if softness generates helpful speed control.

Please Note: We have been experiencing ISP utility issues for the past 12 hours
that include intermittent, unpredictable, total loss of service. This can and has
happened in mid-edit resulting in the loss of content. We are not sure where or
what the problem is exactly, but we are attempting cause/fix ASAP. Your patience
is appreciated and if the page seems incomplete or disjointed in any way, this note
is attached as a content/format caveat.

Thanks for your visit!

Please Note:

Skiing attendance is by reservation or seasons pass only.

There was an upgrade to the Covid-19 Level in this area to
“RED ZONE” status effective 12.14.20. We do not know exactly
how this could impact any future Mountain utility beyond the
provisions of the currently available Red Zone behavioural
protocols and/or current Press Releases.

The status of active or available participation may possibly
change with short or no notice for public health and safety.

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)
