Weather Notes:

Despite the relatively warm hourly temp values shown,
it will still be a “Bundle Up” day due to the peak wind
gust velocities that you can also see posted here.

Sitting in the adjacent Old Village of Mont T., the
wind is periodically howling....

We have had concerns raised about the precipitation
forecast for tomorrow, however we’re not too worried
yet because of the potential for cooler air strata above
the Mountain to generate snow when the base level temp
is indicated to be a slow rise to a maximum of +4 C.

Additionally, it is quite likely that the temp forecast could
change between now and tomorrow morning, and if anything,
we think those changes could be down. We could be wrong,
but the past trends in daily variations have been towards the
cooler side, so here’s hoping that tomorrow bends in the
same direction.

What we want to remind readers of, is that a) temperature
and rain at +2C(the temp for the biggest rain probability),
at the base Resort level, are frequently separate and distinct
from -2C and snowfall at Mountain and Summit elevations.
This is a fine example of a very fine balance point that could
go either way. b) Despite our optimism, this is a very
unpredictable scenario and there is no doubt, rainy potential.

Conditions Notes:

We expect the amount of open terrain may expand at any moment,
and quite possibly, during the day, somewhere in the middle of
open hours.

What you see here below the Sud/South TGV Quad Base @ Mid-Mountain,
is distant snowmaking guns at full blast, with a Groomer, just visible,
making the turn onto Beauvallon Bas/Lower. This is exactly what
we need.

Obviously, we are very close to some dramatic increases
in both open terrain and in the case of the picture above,
the most practical utility increase possible, the Ski-Out to
the Versant Sud/South Side Resort Base.

Across the majority of the open groomed terrain, what we
have starts out very fine, but it does show traffic wear within
about 2 hours because the loose top layers are not yet anywhere
close to mid-season depths. What ends up happening is that
the firm base can become exposed in some of the highest volume
areas such as the top of pitches, just below crests where everyone
is turning over the same spots, or across the middle of some areas
where everyone is traversing across the same space in a confined
width.

Nothing we can really do about that other than have the best
possible edge sharpness tuning in order to maximize grip when
those slick zones get encountered.

We can’t wait for the new terrain to open. There will be instant,
immediate relief at that point and we can all look forward to
that very soon.

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)
