Flying Mile has been a marquee run at Tremblant
since 1939, the beginning of the Resort history. From
across Lac Tremblant, it is the most visible run
on the Versant Sud/South Side lower half and it
is served by the Flying Mile high speed detachable
quad lift. It is a part of what is considered to be a
sector within the larger picture of the Mountain
footprint, and it has all challenge levels from total
Beginner/Green, to the Flying Mile trail itself, which
is legitimate Expert, World Cup, competition level terrain.

Otherwise, our overall performance forecast summary
for today...

Super Easy, Super Fun!

With rising temp’s and low winds,
today should see some very fine
conditions that feature outstanding
high performance lateral carving grip.

Weather Notes:

While the ambient wind speed is low, there may be
gusty periods that will probably be most noticeable
on the Versant Sud/South Side trails on the Beauvallon
Nansen side that are more directly facing. Other than
that, it’s an all easy weather day with a readily distinct
mildness evident from first tracks.

Conditions Notes:

For average Skiers, we generalize that there will usually
be an increase in the positive feel of conditions as temps
rise within Sub-Zero C ranges because the level of internal
humidity seems to rise correspondingly and that generates
a softer, more malleable sensation underfoot. The speed
may not be so blindingly fast as the really cool temps, but
there will still be plenty of quickness, just with an added
degree of edge-set engagement as the top soft layers tend
to be deeper, with enhanced lateral traction.

The range of ideal groomed trail surface compaction
should be over a broader scope every day, and as new
opening terrain comes on line, each passing morning
after the night-shift, the initial day-1 surfaces that
can have mixed machine processed particle sizes, get
rendered into finer, more evenly consistent dimensions
in the natural break-in phase that most trails go through.

In the Sous Bois, Hors Piste, and Un-Groomed, it’s still
a la Carte to variable degrees. There is a great natural
base building in the bush, especially on Versant Nord,
North Side, but caution is still appropriate as the depths
are not yet at full seasonal maturity. Thankfully, the temps
so far this season have been predominantly well below Zero C,
and the normal late fall warm spikes have all been really short,
so things are tracking along very well, maybe even a touch
ahead of average.

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)
