63(*) Open Trails On Sud/South, Nord/North, Edge and Soleil Sectors At #Tremblant .
All 4 Corners OPEN!
Edge Sector Open On Progressive Status.
This Is The First Day Of Season For
All 4 Sectors Open(#) At Tremblant.
(#)Trail availability by sector is still at reduced early season
numbers, however it’s still a milestone in the evolution
of any season and a major positive step forward.
Please Note: a) Due to logistics, it may be a day or two
before we can get to the Edge Sector, however, the
open terrain there has groomed icons attached, so
it is reasonable to expect common day-1 very smooth
with initial machine processed mixed-sized particles
over a firm, primarily blown snow base. These types
of newly opened trails always respond very quickly,
and very positively, literally overnight, to Skier/Boarder
traffic and sequential grooming cycles. It is your mission
to do your part to assist in the break-in phase, so have fun!
Please Note: b) Trail # 1, Bon Vivant, that goes from the
Edge Sector Quad peak, over to join with Trail # 2, La Crete,
as it joins Nansen Haut/Upper, is also shown as progressive
open, so that completes full Lift/Mountain utility access.
Bon Vivant is very gentle, often requiring poles to push,
but it is also one of the most picturesque places on Planet
Earth, so we encourage all who can, to try it for the sake
of seeing its magnificent natural beauty.
In the meantime...
Here are more current samples of some of the newest
trail openings from yesterday that should all see enhanced
refinement today as a result of the incremental daily
improvements when temps are 24hr. sub-zero C for
many consecutive days.
Below: This is especially important for Beginners and Intermediates
because in order to get to the super smooth and easy surfaces of
Algonquin, you need to descend first on the Versant Soleil access
trail “Franc Sud”. Due to pitch and traffic volume it can be prone
to moguls or icy bits, but the feedback we’ve gotten is that
Mountain Crews have been keeping this very, very smooth, so
there may be a bit of extra challenge there, but we want to
encourage all concerned to make the effort in order to get to
the very rewarding quality of Algonquin.

Weather Notes:
If you think it’s been cool out, keep in mind it could be
a lot worse, as in way, way, cooler to a record -51C out
in western Canada, as a very cold shot of polar air has
descended. See attached supplementary data below.

Conditions Notes:
Conditions are very good across all skill level rated terrain
for this still early time of season.
The natural snowpack has been building quickly, and the
open terrain is expanding rapidly.
The groomed base is firm, there are a few minor icy bits,
but overall, it’s quite fine in a historical sense for the
Christmas/New Year Holiday period.
Well tuned gear is a huge asset as sharp edges are your
best friends for safe control. Directional input and speed
regulation are both dependant on the mechanical connection
between Skis/Board and surfaces. No matter what your skill
level is, the only thing that transmits the personal energy you
can generate to the surface are the grip levels that are totally
dependant on sharp. Don’t bring your Ferrari to the track
with flat tires...

Please Note: After an injury a couple of weeks ago,
we have a first-back rehab training commitment on
the Mountain today that involves a lot of “Nansen”.
On that account, the morning report will be a bit
abbreviated in order to facilitate logistics.
Thanks for your visit!
Please Note:
A Covid-19 Vaccination Passport Is Required To Access The Mountain.

Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.
When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.
There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.
( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)
