Friends looking to have a Holiday adventure combine a day
at Tremblant within their travels centred around a Chelsea Qc.
base. We’re so glad they did as we had a chance to do a couple
of cruising runs, using Algonquin and Nansen to dust up a little
safe speed training refresher and show them just how much fun
there is on the biggest peak you can get to with an easy drive
from their home in Toronto.

But that’s not the only story from today. We met wonderful folks
from Detroit Mich., U.S.A., and from the Great State of Arizona,
transplanted Quebecer’s working there, home for family holiday
celebrations.

Just 3 quick samples from the thousands of stories of how folks
came to be at Tremblant today, but the bottom line is each and every
one was thrilled to be here for the joy, the beauty, and fun of a day
on the slopes!

A Fly Under The Radar Day Between Xmas And New Year?

The annual Holiday period is most often attended in
long-weekend or week-long style associations with
either the Christmas or New Year dates themselves,
so it frequently happens that there can be a small
gap of relatively low attendance for 2 or 3 days in
the middle as one group checks out, and before the
next group checks in.

Today might possibly be one of those days?

We could be wrong.

If we’re right, then those wise regional folks who can be here
today are going to have the very fine privilege of the expanded
open terrain, another night-shift grooming refinement cycle,
and a dusting of more new snowfall. We think the odds are
therefore very positively in favour of a great day!

Otherwise...

It’s forecasted to be overcast, which may be compounded in
some zones by snowmaking cloud, so if you’re new to, or
unfamiliar with the area, or it’s your first day out for the new
season and you just want to match your own skills to the right terrain...

flow opportunities for getting more runs in. We consult

Conditions Notes:

Refinement. The word of the day. Every day in a
sequential series of consistent 24hr sub-zero C’s,
represents an incremental increase in overall quality
within the regularly groomed trail array.

For sure, it’s still “December”, for sure there’s Holiday
traffic, but nevertheless, the natural snowfall has been
building up very nicely, and the snowmaking has also
been rapidly building too, so the complete open, groomed
trail package is doing quite well. As we discussed above,
Holiday traffic can be a bit of a “Wild Card”, but so-far
for the last couple of days, it’s been rather light by the
standards of some Holiday’s past, so there have been
surprisingly short group lines and the singles lines have
frequently been ski-on with no wait at all.

The best signs of health in the Sous Bois/Hors Piste and
Un-groomed category are the recent new openings in the
Edge Sector, a favourite for regional and local bushwhackers
who have been waiting patiently for Mother Nature to fill
in those spaces. Your days have arrived.

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)
