97/102(*) Open Trails On All 4 Open Sectors At #Tremblant .
Please Note: The only closures are for F.I.S. Race course
provisions. Tremblant is 100% intact and after the event
is over, the reopening terrain will be be in extraordinary
condition as the consequence of the meticulous event
preparations and ongoing maintenance.

Below are 3 excellent shareable social media Tremblant posts which
we are sharing here for archival date/event specific reference.
The first below gives a very good technical overview of the
typical “GS”, i.e., Giant Slalom style course that has been the
configuration run for yesterday and today, prior to the switch
to “SL”, i.e., Slalom, for the final two event days.

You may hear references to “Technical Disciplines” as “GS" and “Slalom",
and “Speed Disciplines” as “Super G", and “Downhill”. Tremblant is well
suited to the GS and Slalom modes as they are less dependant on the
length of sustained pitch that the “Speed” events need and that’s why
we think you see the bulk of those Speed events only in the very high
Alpine Mountains such as the European Alps.

This event is a “Test Run” for F.I.S. certification to hold the
World Cup Women’s GS next December 2/3, 2023 so what
you are seeing yesterday and today are probably going to
be the closest to the way the World Cup event will be laid
out. Perhaps one of the most exciting aspects of the World
Cup event is that the greatest, most successful ski racer of
all time, Mikaela Shiffrin, will be here at Tremblant.

Weather Notes:
Our forecast is for a genuine, authentic,
very snowy, winter “Howler”.
----------- Environment Canada Snowfall Warning ---------------
Conditions Notes:
Heavy snowfall accumulations with significant
blowing and drifting compounding factors may
generate rapidly evolving challenge within all
open terrain categories.
The due Easterly wind direction will be coming
up the Mountain like a freight train straight
over P’tit Bonheur and cresting the Summit
over Beauvallon Haut/Upper and Alpine. On
the flip-side, with the wind at your back, riding
up the Lowell Thomas or Duncan quads may seem
as if you’re in a zone of calmness due to the
tailwind.
The Versant Sud/South Side sector is in the lee
of the wind force, so there may be some very
beneficial drifting, particularly on upper portions
below the La Crete Summit crest.
