“With All This Snow,There May Be Skiable Terrain Until June"

Post by T360 »

Somewhere in all our posts from previous years, we have included
other Web Cam Snap Shots like these, showing snow on the last day
it’s visible in a Web Cam View. We think the latter weeks of May are
typical.

With the 2017/18 Seasons accumulation of 557cm’s, and
much of it in the final phases, we theorized in our April closing
day reports that...

"With All This Snow, There May Be Skiable Terrain Until June”

...or words to that effect.

Please note Screenshot dated timestamps:

A few points here being...

1) These are just what was visible. There are places that cannot
be seen by the web cams that will have had more. We speculate
that those places would have been on the Upper portions of
Versant Nord, the North Side, that are just below the Summit
within the Lowell Thomas Sector where its cooler at elevation,
and there are shadows/shade most of the day.

2) Visible snow at this date indicates that Mountain substrates
are still quite cool and the frost of the winter is not all that far
removed. We call that a component of “Thermal Momentum”
for the conical mass of Tremblant’s core temp that may even
affect the following/upcoming ski season.

3) You might be considered “Crazy” for attempting to ski
on short strips of snow where only a few turns are possible,
however, there are just such people who will attempt it
anyway, just to prove a point, or to set an example, or
to brag to their friends... “I Skied Tremblant in June”.

4) Fanatical Ski Freaks will try almost anything to get
out on their boards!

"Cool Rules”...
Of all of the above, it’s number 2 that we think is significant.
Just as an ocean keeps a static temp below a certain depth,
so should a Mountain’s core. In the case of a Mountain’s core,
the cooler the better for the winter seasons establishment and
durability.
