When It's This Snowy At Tremblant...
People Start Jumping Around....
(Snowy North Park Sample from our most recent white-out event.)
It may not seem like much to some, but for us....
Our Most Favourite Thing To See On Any Winter Morning
Web Cam Preview....
Snow in the Trees!
Today, as per time stamp, North Base, Expo Quad Chair. Of all the Web Cam Snap Shots, this is arguably the most significant one
this morning because it illustrates that not only did we get snow, but
that when the Weather Reports indicate Temps anywhere CLOSE to freezing....
We're on the Cool side of the mark!
The snow in the trees in this pic. above are the most sensitive to thermal
events. There is no insulation for these guys, so as long as you see
snow in these trees, you know for sure, we're good to go, with Sub-Zero!
O.K. then, here's the next most important one....
Today, as per Time stamp, Summit, Soleil Quad Chair/cable visible, screen left.
Web Cam View...
The Summit Trees are full 'o Snow too, and the noteworthy relevant
point here is that these guys would have been the most susceptible
to either Wind or Thermal effects as they are in a very "Open" environment.
Sign Looks Like This On The Ground.... So then, based on some quick preliminary Web Cam Homework,
you should now be getting ready to head out the door to be
first in line for "First Tracks" at 7:45 A.M.!
The "Official" Total is 10 CM, or 4 inches of Fresh Snow, but...
we can tell you for a fact, that is not as important as...
"Where did the wind put it?"
There are going to be a drifting factors from predominantly Easterly
winds yesterday and through the night, that will benefit sectors of the
Mountain with accumulations that could be well above the statistical total.
Those areas may include, but are not limited to:
-The Right Hand Side of North Sector Trails as you descend.
-All the narrow little North, Summit based trails that have
tree lined sides that act as wind/snow scoops, then shelter the
drifted results.
-"La Griffe" and "Windigo" could be exceptional.
-The Left Side of South Sector trails as you descend.
-"Ryan's" Lower portion on the South could be very interesting for experts.
-"Reaction" over on the Edge Sector has a great chance of being "Amazing",
... there are other possibilities....
Your mission is to go and look for them!
Ryan, Upper, Snowy day sample, from Feb 6, taken from
the Soleil Quad on the way up, looking back over your
right shoulder. The Groomed Terrain is going to be outstanding. No other way to
put it. Smooth with a capital "S".
Glitches? Maybe, but very minor. There may be some un-groomed
areas of natural that get drifted and cut up during the day and
because we're talking about fairly high moisture content new snow
that's come at just below zero, it could be rather thick or sticky
in places.
Certainly, if possible, appropriately prepared bases with a Temp
range wax to match actual will be an advantage.

Courtesy of Tremblant.ca Todays report may be under evolutionary construction
all day long with additions of pic's 'n text, so thanks for this
vist, and come back whenever you have a moment.
We're gonna try to "connect the dots" between actual
Web Cam Snap Shots and our pic.file full scale samples
for the benefit of better "Visualization".

What you'll be able to find at Tremblant today... Need Motivation?
You really shouldn't need any more than that...
