T360 Apres Ski Added Below in Reply @ 8:15 P.M.

Early Apres Ski Edit At 7:15 P.M.

Wow.... That was some kind of weirdly wonderful, whacky, wet
sleety, freezee, fast, foggy, soggy day of actual great Skiing if you
could get by the incredibly overwhelming icing problem of goggle lenses.

Despite The Andrew Eberhard Emergency Goggle Cleaning(**) processes,
there was no way to keep up with it beyond a few hundred meters at a time.

So then, how could you have fun on such a day???

Fortunately, the particle size which was quite capable of accumulatively
rendering your goggles almost useless, was not big enough to be painful
on the naked eye, so a lot of people were going without goggles at all
and at a reduced speed, just below the threshold of eye discomfort.

What we found worked on a sustainable basis was to raise our goggles
just onto the helmet brow, so the lower edge of the goggles was acting
as a wind, and hence, icing particle, deflector. With that set-up, we
were actually able to cruise around at a fair clip, and with the occasional
"Particle Free Sector" where there were no vision or speed restrictions
we realized we adapted and could now focus on fun!

More, Plus Pic's, Shortly....

(**) Andrews Goggle Solution. Posted under "General" in Board index.

Very Un-Scientific, rude, crude measuring method, but those are
160 CM Skis and we could have pushed them beneath the surface!

Tremblant Has Ton's Of Snow!!!

But Wait, There's More...!!!

Couple or three interesting things about this one...

1) Lot's o' Snow here too !!!
2) Snowfall was at times intermittent, so at times, you could see a long way.
3) With this much snow, Expo's fairly easy with short radius,
"Old School", "Parallel Turns".

One of the most amazing aspects of these conditions is
the "Go Anywhere, Do Anything" reliability of the Grip
and the consistent depth of the Shred Factors.

The High Speed Carving is a Pure Winter Alpine Joy.

CONDITIONS CAVEAT:
Glitches? Maybe, but mostly from "Too Much Snow".
Otherwise, There may be some wind-blown slick spots
on the wide open Southerly exposed runs from the high
velocity winds that forced yesterdays South/Soleil
Lift closures, but just use your head with caution
and control while initially exploring... we'll try to look
into that today.

Good Foggy Grief, Charlie Brown....

Man 'o Man, that was foggy, except it was foggy with tiny, tiny very very fine
sleety little particles that instantly coated your goggle lenses with an immovable,
quickly accumulating coating of vision obliterating ice.

Sorry for this burned around the edges image, but we had to fry it up
with max'ed out contrast, definition and highlights to get anything out
of it at all... it was that foggy at times...

As we explained above, wearing the goggles up on the helmet brow effectively
acted as a wind and particle deflector and we cruised around that way all day
with a sort of squinty outlook, but we actually carried a fair bit of speed that
way with complete safety. It helped a great deal that the temps were not that
cold, so naked eyes were not suffering intolerably.

Algonquin Cruising... Sans Goggles... Typical of Adaptive Compensation
for the freezing particles.

You can actually see the buildup of icy particles on this Boarders lower
half. Everyone on the Mountain looked the same from the waist down.

Besides which, during our travels, we encountered numerous "particle and fog
free zones", so there was no shortage of adapted fun.

The whole of Tremblant has a very user friendly "Shred Factor" so set an edge
and no problem carving anywhere. Almost zero ice on the surfaces.
P'tit Bonheur, Algonquin, Nansen, Beauchemin, Duncan, and many many others
are all fine.

If you were not capable of compensating for the vision issues, it may not have been
an easy day. If you could, there were still great surface conditions.

With Goggles up, you could easily observe the stunningly beautiful Macro
views, always an alternative when the Big Picture panoramas are not to be seen.

A Close examination of the needles of this Fur Tree shows the
fine particle deposition on each tiny needle. On the ground, these
particles melded with the snow in a seamless way that simply
contributed to the satin-like feel underfoot of Skis or Board.
