Early Apres Ski Edit @ 5:15 P.M.
A Classic, Beautiful, Tremblant Winter Day...
With Miles Of Soleil Smiles....
Up from Montreal for the day, Volunteer Models du Jour!
And Superieur Conditions!
There was no question, the Mountain was busy today with a lot of
Quebec School Holiday traffic, so we did end up in lift lines, the
longest of which was 12 minutes. Other than that one occasion,
by using the Singles line, we were able to keep moving with only
very minor lift delays. Periodically there were trail traffic issues,
mostly kids racing around, but the snow surfaces were smooth, fast
and virtually glitch free. There is the odd rock poking out on some of
the natural Mogul runs, but as we recall, they're all well marked.
More Apres Ski later as time permits, Lord willing,
before 11:00 P.M.

"Cool" in more ways than one, Tremblant!
"Cool" first, because we arguably have the best conditions
of this Season today. Coverage, Snow Quality, Grooming
are all at levels that represent the accumulations that
with very minor variation, have been building since
before Christmas, almost completely uninterrupted.
Secondly, -28 C certainly qualifies as "Cool" in our books.
Even the Ravens are complaining loudly out the back door
this morning as we're facing what could be the last day
of pure Winter this season.
We say that because in a little more than 24 hours from now,
there's a Weather Forecaster's Consensus, that temps will be
rising a staggering 35 Degrees Celsius...
35 degree Celsius rise = 95 degree Fahrenheit rise!!!!
Wow!
There is a difference of Opinion about Tomorrow's day-time temps
between The Weather Network, Environment Canada, who both agree
on "Plus" C values of 7 C and 10 C, respectively, and Tremblant.ca that
is calling for a max Daytime high tomorrow of -1 C, but regardless,
temps are going to go up for sure.
Back to Today...
Get Ready For "Perfect"! "They" say that "Perfect" is impossible, but we think that yesterday's
surface conditions had the very highest levels of quality that can only come
with months of accumulation and the meticulous, daily efforts of the Tremblant
Mountain Crews, and were probably as universally consistent as any other
single day of the season so far.
Repeat, Today...
Miscellaneous "Yesterday" Pic's that will tell you a lot about
Today....
"You'd Have To Be A Lunatic To Miss These Conditions"...
Self explanatory....
Interesting to note in this one that there's so much weight
in Snow on some tree boughs that gravity is taking over
causing it to fall off. We saw similar all over the Summit
sectors. There really is a lot of Snow here. "The Colours Of Fun!" Setting off from the Summit, the
range of colour in the Styles we see "pop" out from the
pristine white background. One Pic. Summary... Tremblant Ski Conditions... Excellent!
It was like this everywhere...
excellent edge set, grip and control characteristics.
Versant Sud, The South Side, Grand Prix, Telephoto. While South Side Scenes were getting full Sun, the long shadows of
late afternoon gave North sectors an intimate, sheltered feel.
Versant Nord, Picturesque North. "Last Run", riding up Duncan, looking over to the "Edge".
By this time, the Sun had warmed things up and compared
to the morning, it was a lot less cold.
The Rest Of Today's Weather...
As chilly as it is this morning, we should see a fairly quick rise
up to -6 C by just after lunch. The wind has been very calm at
lower levels here, thankfully, and even at the Summit should not
get much over light at 10KM, from the Sou-West or coming
up the Mountain from Soleil, heading across towards Beauchemin.

"Live For The Moment",
it's a perfect Winter day here today.
Tomorrow promises to be quite a bit different....
Near future Tremblant Trip Planners:
Don't panic... Nothing the weather does here at Tremblant now
will diminish the coverage. There's so much snow here that as long as
we don't have spring heat cycles above statistical averages, we
could probably Ski 'til mid May, no problem. The essence of what's
going on now is the Transition(s) that occur naturally as we progress
towards "Spring" Skiing, which has it's own unique attributes, separate
and distinct from "Winter". All the Snow we have in place can only mean
an exceptionally fine "Spring Ski Season", so we've got all those fantastically
"User Friendly" Warmer, Sunnier, Softer Spring days to look forward to!
