Versant Nord, The North Side Got Overnight Snow!!!
on average we'd guess at about 12Cm +/-
You Might Not Believe This, So Here Is A "Proof Of Snow"
That Is Real, Genuine And 100% Tremblant!
No Arguments, No Kidding, No Doubt...
It's just about a Miracle !!! Thank You Mother Nature !!!
Thank You Tremblant Mountain Crews !!!
WE FOUND A DRIFTED LITTLE 20 CM, 8 INCH UNTRACKED
POWDER LINE DOWN THE RIGHT SIDE OF LOWER
MCA AT 3:00 P.M. !!!!
North was a complete beautiful Winter Day Surprise!!!
South was nice, started out a bit icy, some chunky bits too,
but softened up somewhat after lunch...
McCulloch, Upper Pitch.
If you look in the upper left corner of this image, you
can see the chunky bits. They were softening, but still
a wee bit icy by 3:20, or so. Sorry, had to head back North! Just because the first jump in the North Park isn't huge,
doesn't mean you can't get decent air off it as this Boarder shows.
All you need is 'da speed!
As unbelievably usual, P'tit Bonheur was a ribbon of Carving Perfection !!!
Even after all yesterday's rain!!!
Great Skiing Lives At Tremblant!!!!
Plan accordingly for tomorrow regional Tremblant Fans...

8:00 A.M. Update:
Real, Actual Tremblant... right this moment...
Earlier we wrote about "no clouds in sight"... from where we sit...
There is cloud now to the North East, and just now appearing in other
compass points as well.
This Telephoto shows the developing weather to be very low over the Summit
as the Telecom Tower has it's upper portion obscured by cloud.
Using the Summit Web Cam, we can look 180 degrees back toward where
the above ground level pic's were taken.
Firstly, we can see that in the space of time between 8:00 and 8:50,
there has already been change in the cloud formation.
Secondly, we can also see by the Web Cam that the Summit and surrounding
terrain actually got a bit of Snow as evident by the retained snow in the
tree boughs and on the surface of the Camera's protective globe.
We have "out of office" chores this A.M., so hope to get onto the
Mountain later on. Will post accordingly.
Thanks for your visit... and if you're a near future Tremblant trip
planner, don't worry, the base here has a ton of natural snow in it,
recovery in both surface and trail count should be fairly quick and
we'll no doubt get more Snow too.

53(*) Open Trails on the recovering from "Warm" and "Wet"
at Tremblant...
That's the way it goes.... we got so used to "Winter" that the
inevitable transition to "Spring", which should come as no
surprise, has non-the-less, been rather abrupt.
The conditions we've endured over the past 2 days has not
stopped us from being on the Mountain though and typical
of rainy Ski days, being prepared allowed us to have fun anyway
as we described in last eve's Apres Ski. The biggest surprise of
yesterday was how much speed there was on the Open surfaces.
Based on the day before when the Sun's energy initially softened things
up and made surfaces quite "Sticky", we thought yesterday might have
been similar or even more sticky, but....
That was not the case at all... Anyone who was actually on the Mountain
yesterday will confirm, surfaces were fast, and fun! To be sure, the weather
scared away many and caused lift glitches/interruptions, but we were not
deterred and had fun just the same.
When you can spend all day doing these aggressive kinds of
Shredding Carves anywhere on the Open Terrain, we don't care what
the weather's doing, because we're warm, dry and rockin' with
lots of speed and no one around. So much for that....
On to Today.... So far, Brilliant Sunshine, with not even a cloud in sight from
where we sit, so together with a return to Sub-Zero, freezing temps this
morning, we're going to have a new set of surface conditions.
Today's forecasted Daytime High Temp is - 4 C.
Winds moderate at 15 KMPH and Westerly or coming up
the Mountain from Beauvallon/Nansen sectors.
Mountain Crews are going to be in "Recovery Mode" for a few days.
We expect to see that recovery make rapid advancements in the Open
Trail count because we have not lost much in the way of coverage.
There was so much accumulated snow on the ground and the frost is so
deep into the Mountain, that while we quickly lost the uninsulated snow
in the tree boughs, the Alpine surfaces did not have nearly the same
loss.
One dimension of what's going on, seems to be more like a compression
of the surfaces caused by moisture saturation, but if yesterdays performance
capability says anything, we think a lot of the dampness is being wicked off
the surface to be absorbed by layers below.
Undoubtedly, this will create icy conditions in many places, but that's where
the "Recovery" part comes in. Mountain Crews deal with this every single
season, sometimes on multiple occasions, so they know from experience
what to do.
We need to be patient while they do their job, thankfully, there's no better
team than the Tremblant Mountain Operations Group, so recovery will be
as fast as it possibly can be.
Caveat, Conditions/Equipment:
You are going to need to have Sharp edges to maximize both safe control
and enjoyment. Otherwise, without tuned gear, you can expect to have
a difficult time with the firmness that will result from what may become
daily cycles of "Spring" daytime softening and night time freezing.
If you want to maximize "Glide" capability when surfaces are soft, you
need to wax or coat your bases with the appropriate "Warm" product,
available at any Ski/Board shop on the planet.
There's no reason for loss of enjoyment or control if you are prepared.
---------- End of Caveat --------------
